We love this place! We recently became members and went on the Haunted Tour. It was so much fun, Vanessa is awesome! This is a must-do for October!! Cannot wait to spend more time at the museum. We enjoyed touring around a bit that evening but there is so much more to explore and the staff is super-knowledgeable and friendly. Bend has a really interesting history and if you're into that, you gotta visit this museum!

Questions & Answers

I have a postcard sent from my grandmother, Elvita Louise (Louie) Holmes Minor to her father George H Holmes in Wisconsin with a picture of the Bend High School football team of 1912. The postmark is Dec 8 1912. My father Kenneth Minor is in the pic.

Good Morning. What a wonderful piece of family history you have. Are you related to the Minor family who owned the Minor building off Wall Street? The building stood next to the current Wells Fargo Bank, on the location the bank's parking lot is today. The building had apartments upstairs and businesses, such as Bend Dairy, on the street level. We'd love to see the postcard. Please drop in next time you are around. We are open Tuesdays-Saturdays 10am-4:30pm. Thanks for posting.

While metal detecting at the Elk Lake Campground on an overgrown side hill, I uncovered what turned out to be a brass tent rope tightener of the type used in the Civil War and WWI (Google "Civil War tent rope tightener"). Would you like to have it?
