Such a beautiful hidden gem! After the 2018-2019 fires, this place was cleaned up and turned into a little nature walk which people ignore mostly while visiting Lake Balboa. I love the bird population and it's peaceful nature

This is one of my favorite places to go for a nature walk. With lots of wild life. Please respect them. We are the guest the animals live there. Please leave the dogs at home or if not put them on the lease.

Been coming here for years. Fires and floods. Still a beautiful place filled with life.

This wildlife reserve is a beautiful place to come and relax in the valley. There is a peaceful lake/ pond with tons of water fowl flying and swimming around perfect for birding. Seems to be fish in the pond as well but no fishing is allowed. There is a path around the lake that runs around the park and near the other recreational areas including archery and cookout areas. You can stop at points on the path to read about the reserve and how and y it was created. Which is actually interesting. Most of the reserve is underwater during periods of its existence and they have stones to mark the maximum heights that the water gets to. It’s pretty cool to think about that whole area underwater. As with many places there are a fair amount of homeless people floating around but we’re friendly to me and pointed me in the direction of the nearby model airplane and drone field nearby once he saw my drone.

I've been coming to this park for over 40 years and watched its beauty erode year after year. I love the archery range and have been going there for as long as I've been going to the park. I run my dogs there often. If you're looking to escape the rudeness of the masses of people that show up on the weekends my best answer would be go during the week. It's still beautiful, Wildlife still refuge there. Hawks and turkey buzzards abound. It still has charm in my book.
Sunrise to sunset
Ya it's sunrise to sunset for parking at least. I left 10min before 8pm but there were still about 15 people there fishing nd walking it's just dark
There are restrooms in the main park part. The hiking is not so long that there needs to be restrooms along the way - unless one has bladder issues...
There is parking along the road and if you go up there is a lot more near the restrooms. There is no fee.
I'm not sure what you mean. There are homeless all around it and the surrounding area and some inside it. As to what is going on well the entire area is like this
