A friend had some secondhand children's clothes that were in good shape, and I wanted to help her find the best home for them, so I went to Annie's. What a great place! The store is well-laid out; the racks of clothes are easy to look through, and the shelves are open and easy to browse. Annie's has a LOT of stuff, but it's not overwhelming because it's organized. Annie was able to appraise all the clothes I brought in within 24 hours, and was able to offer money for the pieces she kept to sell. The rest she returned to me so they could be donated elsewhere. The process was simple and straightforward. The store is fairly easy to access; it's right on 39th Street, to the west of Southwest Trafficway. And her hours are convenient for both the shopper and the potential consignee. I appreciate Annie offering an option for moms who need to divest themselves of their children's older clothes, and an option for moms who need to find some good-quality clothing at a reduced price. It's kind of hidden gem! It appears to be run as a nonprofit and it's not exactly the best organized, but boy can the prices not be beat! Even better, they take donations for your gently used children's clothing so you can recycle. Word to the wise: this is volcker/westport adjacent and that means every so often you are going to see someone trying to sell something in the parking lot, be it a game station or a pair of boots. My advice to you is to leave them alone and not let it deter you from this awesome place. Everyone here is trying to make a living the best way they can so as long as it's not hurting anybody I say go for it.
