I have enjoyed living here until I decided to rescue a dog on fourth of July weekend. I was told and the website stated you could have a dog under 45 pounds and not certain breeds. He is twelve pound and a small Beagle mixed breed. I was fully prepared to pay the almost Three hundred dollars out of pocket as a deposit and that was the reason I called. When I told them about the dog the VERY FIRST day after the holiday I was told I lived in a cat only building. WHAT? I am not a cat person so this would have struck me as weird had I known of it! Your website does not state that if you EVER have the intention of owning a pet you have to live in a certain buildings to do so. I was not in a place to own a pet when I signed my original lease over a year ago so it was not something I looked at then. Now they are saying they put the clause in my original lease when it would of been something I would have asked about, then, if I had known. I am shocked about it and that they are telling me I have to move to a different unit in an entirely different building. I just signed a seventh month lease extension so I did not have to move, why would I be okay to move units? Why should it be that way? Who is going to pay for my stuff to be moved? It was not an expense I could cover, hence not moving this month when my original lease is up. I am one who reads paperwork fully and reads the fine print. I was not told this because I was not a pet owner at the time of moving in. I am very confused about this as I was asked about currently owning pets but not about any potential future pet ownership. They say that they are willing to work with me regarding this matter but I am very weary now and saddened that the policy was so misrepresented to me. I would ask that they please be more transparent to potential renters in the future. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place and I hope this warning helps others not go through this in the future. I am in no position to move and am hoping this serves as a warning to those who want to rescue pets. ASK before you sign the lease if you can have pets in the future, if you should ever decide you want them!! I have loved my apartment and it is perfect for me and my dog and I hope they can have some compassion about this but it sounds discouraging.

Harvard square is a special place to live. Although it has nothing to do with the place at all. For me it has been the people who work here. The two property managers here, Kristin and Heather are some of the kindest most genuine people I've ever had the chance to meet. People are what makes a place feel like home. After all, isn't that what we're all searching for? This place makes me feel welcomed and accepted for who I am. I don't think I could have found that any place else. And now that I've lived here for almost two years, it would be hard to imagine looking for it anywhere else at all. All the love. -Jake.

I had an atrocious experience living at Harvard Square. Staff turnover was so frequent that it seems even employees were not treated well. The building is dilapidated and completely filthy. There were dead bugs in the lobby that stayed there all year. The laundry services were also terribly unhygienic and overpriced. My apartment was full of pests and I had to personally deal with this. There was a hole in my ceiling so that the bedroom was frequently flooded. The apartment looked like something out of a horror show from the 70's - absolutely nothing like the images on the website. I am still having difficulties with this company regarding poor communication and their terribly written, unprofessional contracts.

I lived at Harvard Square for 2 years and moved out due to needing more space. Angel, the property manager is very pleasant and personable. I had no issues with the apartment. Maintenance was always quick to respond and it is nice that the office would store packages for you. I got a good deal on the price of the apartment when I moved in, however I believe their current rates are a bit high for the apartment. Overall my experience with Harvard Square was positive.
