Normally don't do this, but feel like I should. First off, the whole sign in and grab a number thing is dumb. Not enough space for people to wait for number to be called, it is 2022, you should have a better system then that. Second, the attitude when dealing with people needs to be better. I get it, people come in and make your job hard sometimes, but don't don't take it out on the next person. I don't wanna be here anymore than the next person, and I know I could do everything online, but I needed to speak with someone in person, right in front of me, to help solve an issue

This is my first time writing a review on ANYTHING, but I need to give a shout out to a man by the name Johnathan in this department. This dude needs a raise or something! This man took the time to actually call me back to break down what was going on with my claim - making it easy for me to understand and helped me not be intimidated with whats going on. Just going through EDD is confusing as heck especially now because of the pandemic. Everyone needs help, the workers are over worked and have their own problems - I get it. This man didn't just push my confusion to the side like most will and did his job. God bless him. He had exceptional customer service. Very thankful.

Wonderful staff and helpful with claim issues, it’s easy if you have an online account and can submit forms online. Thank you EDD for these generous tax free benefits.

Finally talked to someone after approx 4 hours of trying. The computerized prompts are endless, useless, and there is no fast way to get in the Que to talk to a real person. When I finally did, she was RUDE, shouting at me same info over and over even though I was asking different questions. She HUNG UP ON ME!! This is a state office. I demand better behavior. Add to that the stress of even having BE on disability. Shameful, embarrassing to our state.

They have a office in Oakland. They will help you. About an hour wait time
When I went there I was told no one in the office could/would speak to the public. The guard handed me a paper form with which to file my claim. This has been 3 weeks and I don't have any idea of my claim status. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
No appointment needed but I would advise you get there early as possible doors open at 8:00am
Phone calls really aren't the best option due to the high volume of clients in the office at any given time. I HIGHLY suggest visiting the SDI website. It's faster abd requires no travel time.
No u can walk in.
I hope so
I think they'll be closed. I think its a federal holiday. State buildings usually observe the same holidays. But I could be wrong.
You might have to go to the office directly and ask them about your claim, usually they won't give you a receipt number
If your Doctor ignored a policy that is in writing, then you first need to show your Doctor's office for them to correct it. If they still, blatantly ignore a valid policy, then contact the issuing office and let them know. You must have proof or they will ignore you. I wish you the best of luck. Dishonesty does not pay!
By logging onto EDD.org and signing into your account, it'll have listed paperwork received, what's needed if your process is pending.
Honestly its almost not possible, why it's an option I have no idea, if you get placed on hold you're lucky, better off visiting an office
Apply for a claim in SDI on EDD.org, follow all steps and turn in your necessary information, make sure your receipt number is given to Medical Records
