free ice water and 5 cents coffee... sounds fake but it's true at this time... It would be hard to miss Wall Drug while in South Dakota near Mt. Rushmore because there is literally a sign every mile (or maybe more) along I-90. Wall Drug is pretty much the ultimate kitsch destination in all of South Dakota, or possibly the entire country. It’s certainly a drug store, but it’s much more than that these days: it’s a restaurant, a coffee shop, a souvenir store, a museum, an art gallery, a church, a bookstore, and a playground. But before it was all of these things, it was a drug store. And it was a drug store with a problem. Wall town, a population of 900, but no of visitor: south of 15000. Wall, South Dakota is located just beyond Badlands National Park, making it a great launch point or a fun stop for snacks and ice water after a day of driving and hiking. It’s conveniently located just off I-90.

Although we never planned on going to the Wall Drug Store it was a quite little gem. We personally never even heard of this place but after seeing TONS of advertising signs on our drive to the Badlands we just had to check it out (I guess good job advertising team)! It is a fun little shopping mall that combined lots of small stores into a fun shopping experience. You basically can go from store to store without exiting the building. The place has a good variety of little unique boutique stores, souvenirs and food. After spending a few hours of shopping and exploring I think it was definitely worth the little detour!

Visited Wall Drug for the 1st time a couple weeks ago. I wasn't sure what to expect when we got there but it was wild! Loved how much there was to see and all of the cool shops. Definitely a must stop if you are in SD!! I was loving all of it! March '22

Quite fun and unique place to stop by. If you are doing a road trip along the 90 interstate road, I'm pretty sure you seem a advertising for this store. A lot of them actually but it's worth it. This place is not just a drug store anymore, it's a place where you can eat, have fun, shop and learn a little more about that region! There is free Ice water, a small coffee for 5 cents, delicious donuts and more food options. The place is a agglomerate of lots of different stores like jewelry, clothing store, antique store, gift shop, etc. It does have a section where it explain the story behind this place (which makes you understand why so many billboards along the road) and fun activities for everyone. There are also good bathrooms if you just need a quick stop, a little church, the street where the wall drug store is located is quite interesting with the wild west style. I highly recommend you to stop at this place!

Did you buy the extended warranty?
Lynne, Unfortunately, we do not ship our donuts. Stop by and see us soon!
Hi Leah! We do allow dogs in the store, just not in the cafe/soda fountain area. We do have picnic tables in our backyard that are a great place to sit and eat with your furry friends. See you soon!
Shop.walldrug.com pretty easy Google search.
You can find all the information regarding purchasing hunting licenses here: https://gfp.sd.gov/hunt-fish-license/ We do not sell small game licenses though, happy hunting!
Maybe
Sleepy hollow RV park is 2 blocks away. They have full hookups and very clean bathrooms and showers.
Yes
Mt. Rushmore is about 77 miles away from Wall Drug.
If you ask, I'm sure there is long term parking somewhere nearby.
Hi Cindi, It sounds like that store could be Gold Diggers. I hope you can find what you are looking for! Here is a link to their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gold-Diggers/149214135122320
Yes on the west side of the Wall Drug complex but spends say it's against city ordinance to park overnight- we had no problem doing so, however.
It's an awesome experience.... Everything from trinkets to treasures. Touristy stuff to works of art. Something for everyone plus eateries.... History..... Delicious donuts...... Five cent coffee and free ice water!
Yes there is a BIG free public parking lot. There are a lot of trucks and motor homes parked there.
No
Yes, there is truck and overflow parking on a side street one street over with big signs
Depends on the crowds and what you want to do. If you want to see everything allow a couple of hours at least.. There are lots of little things to see and lots of little shops inside this huge store. Check out the candy store
Yes, if you can't find mail box, just ask. Everyone is very friendly. They will be more then happy to help you.
They do have a web site but very limited merchandise
No
Yes
There is an Rv parking lot about 1 block from the Walldrug main entrance.
There are two bar and grills on the other side of the street,so yes.
They are allowed inside but only service animals are allowed in areas that serve food
Call them to be sure
Call them
Yes. They have very nice restrooms. Some are in the corridors between shops and there is a large restroom in the building through the back lot.
You can find them in the camping section up to 16 feet i believe
Yes
They might have different websites for each store other than that I am not for sure
This is a question best asked directly to them. This site does reviews.
Yes, we took our 20 pound dog through but it's a challenge since the entire place is extremely crowded with shoppers. Keep them on a short leash.
The entire place is made up of mostly stores, but I'm sure it's fine. I would invite you to maybe leave the dog in the car as a step towards getting back to a society where we dont have dogs attached to their owners 24/7.
I think if your dog was in a cart they wouldn't care like in the basket. But otherwise I think you wouldn't be allowed to bring your dog in. I guess if it was a service animal you could.
We really enjoyed the history. Nice clean place. Food was good and reasonable
Yes, I think so.
That's a good question. And as much as I would love to help. I wasn't able to find a telephone number. The only suggestion I can make is call the main stores number and they maybe able to transfer you.
All day long with the best coffee
Yes! Huge breakfast bar, and fresh!! Good, too.
I think 1969
