Room #143 HEADS UP: no AC! I visited when it was in middle 60°F during day and low 50°F at night, and it was suffocating for me to have wine inside room late afternoon. Good luck with the noisy fan! Non-smoking room DID smell old, but furniture itself did not look old. Maybe it's a carpet; my bare feet was black after 10 minutes. Bathroom was clean, almost spotless, just 1 long hair at the shower's soap area. Found dog hair inside ice backet. And of course hair on bed, linens, towels, but that's usually for many hotels... Bathroom door is just too old, wood bloated lol Um, very loud bathroom fan, VERY loud (metal sound) air fan that is used instead of AC. At least all the lights did work. I did not try portable heater. Wall heater too old and not functional. Little clock have 2 USB outlets. Door have a safety chain and window have wood stick to be able to keep it open a little and stay safe, and thank God for window screen! Curtains work well to get darkness inside room. Loved the long wide atoman at bed's foot area. Queen bed, 2 night stands, atoman, 2 chairs with coffee table & separate lamp, commode with TV on, desk with office leather chair on the wheels, and the rest as all hotels have: iron, hair dryer, etc.

Actually wasn't able to stay. I understand the cancellation rules. I reserved a room for two nights. The day we were too check in a family emergency came up. I had tried several times at different hrs to call motel. Finally got ahold of booking agent. They turned in my cancellation. Told me it was up to the property what the outcome would be. Well I totally understand that the first night I needed to pay for. But the second night(when I'm sure they rented it out again) I think they could have made some kind of exception like maybe a few dollars or something. What they did for me was... Originally it was 236.00. They ended up charging me 220.00.i think they could have done better then that. Especially when they were played twice for the same room.

I went without too much expectation because of its old look. However I'm very impressed when I saw the room. Iron, laundry bag, hair dryer, even Keurig coffee maker! The owner is also friendly. I will go again when I visit Newport again.

Felt very safe here, The facility is older. room was clean and very comfy bed Being on the coast there isn't heat or A/C, but there was a space heater provided. Food was available all day. there is a wonderful Oriental restaurant in the parking lot, perfect for takeout. Great location. Easy access to everything in Newport.
