I don't know where to start. This museum is vast. So much to see! I could spend the majority of my day here. I don't even think I thoroughly covered all the floors. Different eras & dynasties are covered. Trust me, go & see the beauty for yourself. The mummies were my favorite 😍

Huge art museum with an array of styles. Came here during the first weekend of the month, as they participate in Bank of America’s Museums on Us, so we got free entry as a result of being cardholders. There is public transportation line with the museum as a stop, but it also was a nice walk to get here from our hotel. Masks were recommended but not required. There is a cafe inside if you need food.
You can easily spend an entire day here looking through all the exhibits. We spent an afternoon until the museum closed at 5, and I wish we were able to spend more time. No flash photography. There were water bottle refilling stations by restrooms. Coat check is available. You’re in for a good time here.

I’m so glad I was able to get through a few areas of the museum! The full explanation of the MFA may take a few trips to completely take in, I could have spent my whole day there in only 2 rooms of one area of the whole museum! So happy to have seen what I saw and also very excited to get back to continue to observe and learn more from the yet undiscovered areas! Thank you MFA!!
Depending on the university (from MA, ME or NH) you might get free admission. All other students have a fee of $23. 'Youth' (17 or below) have free admission after 3pm on weekdays and on Boston school holidays, $10 otherwise.
Free parking is so rare, and so conditional, it to impractical to seek it. Unless you are patronizing a business with parking, you won't have much luck in Downtown Boston.
Yes is Museum on us all days from 10:00am to 10:00 pm. Go with your friends and family enjoy.
Today Wednesday there is free admission?

The E branch of the Green Line has a Museum of Fine Arts stop. The museum is also a short walk from Ruggles station, which is both a commuter rail stop and a stop on the orange line.
Call the main line and ask for a specialist in their preservation department for American artworks. They have great professionals there that can guide you.
Also, the Peabody Essex Musuem has a great preservation department for all things nautical.
The museum has been gradually increasing its open hours. As of yesterday they announced that Friday nights will be open until 10pm.
I doubt they have a public plan for Tuesday, Wednesday openings but I expect as staff and visitors increase in the spring and summer that will be evaluated.
I think so yes but I am not sure how much. I am a security guard not a cashier. But I know senior has discount, also Bank of America get free tickets often.
I'm interested in obtaining information about senior citizen discounts...

From the MFA Boston website:
EBT Card to Culture
Massachusetts residents who present Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) or Connector Care cards in person can receive up to four $3 admission tickets, good for adult general admission or special exhibition tickets.
EBT Card to Culture is a collaboration between the Mass Cultural Council and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services’ Department of Transitional Assistance. See the full list of participants.
You can buy the tickets without the membership too. There is option for one time visit. There is a ticketing desk at the museum. But due to COVID there is limited amount of visitors and hence online booking.
Yes. Advance tickets are required currently, depending on the day you may be able to purchase them same day but on popular days they may sell out in advance.

The name if the stop is "Museum of Fine Arts" or "MFA" and you should take green T. It depends on where you get on the train, you can check the duration using Google maps, it shows even when the T stops.
I didn't see anything that mentioned discounts for seniors or maybe didn't pay attention. I would recommend that you call in to check. Also it's quite huge. It'd be recommended that you plan in advance for the sections or areas of interests, and take breaks in between, to rest and enjoy.
for northeastern it's free.... I'm not sure about other university but students get discounts with a valid student ID.

How much is parking?
amie Burnett | Aug 21, 2019

I believe it was 25 or so almost as much as the entrance fee if you stay over 5 hours. 1 to 4 hours have varying prices respectively. All prices and information can be found on their website.
When you say hotels, please clarify if you mean restaurants or hotels to stay in because I'm completely aware of "hotel" being used as a slang for a restaurant in India. That is evident from one the first few replies.
The Murakmi exhibit will be COLOSED so there is NO "traveling" exibts. But there is tons of art spaning most of human history from all over the world. They have works from Monet, Sargernt, and many more. The MFA is one of the biggest art museums in America.
Drive in, find an all day garage for around $20-30. Then walk take the subway (the T), or rent a bike and easily make your way around the city. Hard Rock is about a 20 minute bike ride or a 30 minute walk from the museum
It really depends on your taste. You could visit one exhibit for 1-2 hours, just to see some things specifically. Or you could spend 4-5 hours, and eat a meal there. One isnt really able to see everything in the museum in one visit- even if they spend an entire day there. Id recommend taking a few hours and choosing some sections you are most interested in.
It's the decision of the MFA Store....might be good if you bring it in; no need to pay for admission cause it's accessible from the lobby. If you're far from Boston, best to call or email them.
Wednesday nights after 4 pm, admission is by voluntary contribution (suggested donation $25).
The Museum is free to all visitors on the following Open House days:
Monday, January 16, 2017
Saturday, February 4, 2017
Monday, May 29, 2017
Friday, July 21, 2017
