This is the worst place to go when you need help with the child they were running your numbers like the police department and are more interested in politics than a family unit and like a thief in the night they will arrange your your kids to be taken in the middle of the night and throw you out on the streets of skid row at 2:00 in the morning with no care they're more interested and doing good God has loved that is not love that is conforming to the government prison this is the farthest thing from a helpful people of a church and of God more like a government facility they had two cops with guns two in the morning to read my child total family separation for the family not looking for the root of the problem to see if they can help in any way or turn us over to the government with no crime being committed they over left too because of the place because of their own wrong good I will not donate help or even can send anybody there unless I wanted someone to see what county jail was like when I remember in the 90s lol they shouldn't hide behind the glory of God doing evil things as they do someone dear God please help them so they know not what they do I guess they're la gangsters that started working with the police go figure like all the rest who's real

Horrible horrible place smh it’s not sanitary to say the least…. No private bathroom/ shower…. The food is barely edible and has caused me and my child food poisoning…They don’t care if you have a severe allergy to something they expect you to eat it or starve. The health department needs to go shut it down. The staff and security are mean and thinks that they are better than the clients and thinks that it’s ok to talk to and treat us anyway they feel. Donations get searched through and they take all the good stuff for themselves and give the leftovers to the clients. all the financial donations that Andy Bales gets could help this place be so much better than what it is now but instead he just builds more buildings and he will ignore you when he’s in the elevator too when you try to politely greet him with a hello smh I guess that staying in a tent in front of the urm and losing a leg didn’t soften his heart. Matthew Bennett is the ONLY person who works there who is sincere and honest and the rest are just in it for a paycheck…..

The staff here are really unprofessional an bias. They only try to hop California residents and try to force you to do things you don't wan to do. My experience with this staff is a really bad one and I feel like they shouldn't have jealous women like this operate a shelter that is supposed to help pretty women getting harassed on the streets by the people that live on the streets. I don't wan to be harassed by the grungy townspeople trying to make babies with me and don't want me to have my already conceived kids. They are dirty and try to force themselves on people and act fake friendly and try to control you. I pass

Today I got to hang out with the seeds of hope! These are the men qualifying to become one of the URM recovery program. They are raw men fresh off the street. They challenge me with how they see themselves in the program. I instill in them value and positive self image from a biblical perspective through my Mystery of Addiction group session. I also serv as site Pastor of Faithful Central Bible Church. We hold live dynamics high energy worship and WORD services every Sunday. Doors open at 9AM. We are the family of Champions! We are Love In Action!

Hello, the obvious to think negative about things because of past experiences. So I volunteered from out of town. I want you to know that there are a lot of people from all walks of life first of all who really do not know Jesus. 1. All donations have to be search through and check for inappropriate donations including food for security purpose, health and safety issues. 2. In some cases, the staff there may be homless or part of the program and are allowed to pick out stuff and I am not sure of all the rules. Like URM, to is a donation based and volunteer bases so some stuff people donated can be either outdated or does not meet standard. The best thing to do is make sure you are right, and see if you can volunteer to help out. Also, a lot of homeless people have issues just like those who are not. Pray for those people . Some people come there are not right and can be a hinderance to those who are really in need. The quiet ones who get overlooked. Pray against those demonic spirits
Thank you Tony for the support. We have to continue to speak the truth regarding the URM and hopefully others will also. I pray and hope that one day they will try to do better for the women's there. It's sad how they are treated with little regard. I heard another woman recently died in the chapel. That place has alot of spirits. Yet the owners and staff only care about getting money and good donations.
Yes the rescue union. Helps people who are homeless but they do have rules to abide by mission rules.
Why Would someone write something like this I know this Mission has done so Much For Me and Others I have Witnessed This WITH My Own Eyes some People will Find Something Wrong No Matter What so You must Experience the Mission On Your Own God Bless
Salvation Army is anti-gay, Goodwill exploits their disabled workers. Honestly, it's really hard to find a reputable place to donate to.
For a bed OK for service not so good
For a job please send him to CHRYSALIS on 5th and Main. They will help and support him in many ways. I've been through their program and I continue to use their services to this day. They helped me with housing and a job.
The union rescue mission, don't want help ,homeless people .the Union rescue mission employees are hypocrites and don't care about the community, and welfare of poor people. It's not a good place ,to try to start over..urm employees will stand in your way..look to god for help...
I'm Brandon Mack for my birthday I went in to the shelter to change my life Union rescue mission do a great job Help those who want help I love the union rescue mission thank you Rev Andy Bales thank you so much for your help and support
Start all over again
Hello, you can live at Union Rescue Mission for as long as you need to. Please reach out if you need assistance. God bless!
Yes there just going to reverify your information all over again...
In take hours start at 1.30pm over flow for women starts at 7.00pm
I dont know I'm not there no more
It's a process. You can get an overnight cot by lining up at the front door at around 6pm. At 8:00pm the will allow some people in. The number of people that are let in at 8pm depends on how many extra cots they have. Once you are in speak to one of the workers on how to get a bed ticket. This bed ticket is good for 15 days. You must get a TB test within 8 days of that bed ticket. You can renew the bed ticket every 15 days. To get a BED in the men's guest dorm upstairs on the 2nd floor you must show proof of income, (pay stubs, SSI, etc..) or enrollment in school. The mission is starting to tighten its policies and what I have stated may have changed.
Absolutely. Alert us by calling me at 626-260-4761 or text same number.
I imagine it being worth while, i was a recipient of the services offered, i stayed there at the shelter. Was great a bed and 3 hot meals daily. Great volunteers/staff who are warm and helpful.
Thank you! Are you closer to our Covina Store at 280 East Arrow Highway or our store at 15918 Whittier Blvd in Whittier?
Yes that is true you have to be in at a certain time and you have to leave at a certain time but if you starting from the bottom and trying to make it back to the top this is for you
Union is better
Never had to go to him. Always went through Kitty. Shes the public relations coordinator. Shes your best bet to talk to him
Yes, you can call and find out what times they serve food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
It doeant work like that you have to go there in person I say about 12 P.M. and go to tue window thats through the back and talk to them
Hello Ms. Yolie: You can go to their Thrift Store website and follow the steps, depending on the items you are donating. The address is www.urm.org/donate/thrift-store. Thanks
You can go to the desk and ask like 9am-12pm and ask the security guard tell you want to donate toys to the children on the fourth floor if need be ask for KimJoy Wheaton tell her Chivana sent you thank. I forgot to mention that KimJoy avail able after 12pm
They do pick and choose they show favoritism to the clients they like me my wife and kids were there this year and the treated them less then the hispanic women gave strollers to who they wanted denied her most services that were there
YES,
Yeah they will accept you just have to get in line at 11:30 am to get a bed ticket for the night
Hola freddie lo mejor es que contactes directamente a urm .
This is so true. They have the audacity to call it a Christian faculty but the staff are full of so much greed and hatred. They don't know how to show respect or be professional. They take money, food and donations. Security are overly forceful.
They have a place for you Trust me Please come tell them I said for you to come
So sorry you feel this way, Dominic. We have many who have not only been helped, but have their lives transformed and thank us for doing so.

Check out URM.org or call our HR Office at 213-347-6300 Andy Bales is President and CEO, and his executive assistant is Celena Juarez, Men’s ministry director is Dan Roleder. It is a very good shelter/rescue mission and call me, Andy Bales, at 626-260-4761 rather than listening to anonymous commentators. Thank you, Freddy.
Yes
Call them first - their policies changes due to COVID19. You have to arrive in the daytime.
On our first floor but due to Covid-19 people need to be I’ve in guests to come and go currently. I am the President and CEO. Check with Post 11 on 1st floor at front of the building or call 213-673-4808 during work hours on week days to learn more. Blessings
I don't think so
I'm not sure Kristy, but I'll find out, ok!
The guests at the URM sleep in dormitory style bunks and cots within the premises.
It's rather iffy, they provide services, to help end homelessness, but I can't say I know two people who were aided in finding suitable housing. The area itself should be nuked and dozed, but going from point A to point B, taking care of the necessary business it'll be a short stay.
Awesome
Thank you so much! Do you know if URM keeps the records of who passes away?
I just want to make sure I'm sending clothes to a family place. Thankyou!!
You have to register yourself first at intake, there are curfews and they prefer you come before 6pm. You take your identification, social security card. They feed you, clothe you, provide shoes and hygienes, plus support classes and resources.
They accept families at anytime. Single individuals before 6pm. Must have an I'd and social security card or something with your name and social on it. They do drug test, it is a drug free environment.
Come in and talk to a chaplain and don't try to put blame on anyone just be humble.
Pass the warm clothes out down on Skid Row and then you will ensure personally that the clothes are being utilized immediately.
Be specific
They also give you walking papers even though you volunteer with your precious time
Hello Ms. White: You can call (213) 347 - 6300 and tell the operator you need information on the Women's Program or simply go to the URM and visit the Contact Office between 6:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Best of Luck
Yeah, I was there two years ago. They don't give you a secure place to keep your stuff, so I had $200 taken from my purse, and my son's tablet was stolen. There are some horrible people in there.
I think if you are under 18 you need a parent present or parental permission or something but do give them a call.
They can't givé you information on whether or not someone is there. (Privacy rights) but they will take a message and deliver it to the person you are looking for and that person can vontact you if they are willing and they are there.
Call the union rescue mission, and they will connect you! Call back, they might have been busy, and didn't realize. Or Google the dental dept.
They are setting up today ... some of the sponsors that are helping out... are there already
Unfortunately you stay according to the gender in which you were born. If you are transgender, I'm not sure why they would send you there as there are safer places for you to stay. Give a call over just to make sure.
Is not a new shelter. They are helping people for over 30 years maybe more. They have different programs depending how committed you are to changing your life.
Regardless of the bad you have experienced and I have experienced, and the major good I also have experienced, I thank GOD for this place and even though the staff is not always in favor of my needs sometimes, I remember all the people they have to deal with, amongst so many different personalities. I continue to lift this mission in prayer in JESUS CHRIST !
