It makes no sense to have the smoking area on the 4th floor shared with the Covid-19 positive patients & the QUARANTINED Covid-19 negative patients. The staff here needs to be more strict and educated on Covid-19. As a participant in the LA Cada program it upsets me that individuals who are employed at the LA Mission don’t wear their mask around Covid-19 positive patients and fail to understand that the virus also lives on surfaces for a certain amount of time. I’m in the program to build my life not place it on pause and not be able to attend work, it’s very frustrating how this facility is ran during the outbreak. They are placing not only peoples lives at jeopardy but their source of income. I have a child and a baby mother who needs my financial support I cannot support them if I get Covid. Please either be more strick on staff or get rid of the ones who don’t respect others lives. Despite the Covid-19 outbreak this place is a great place to rebuild your life, they are currently upgrading the facility to newer amenities which makes your style of living more comfortable as this is a transitional period of a lot of the men that walk through these doors.

Genoa Dear
Beautiful work they are doing here. Please support them and look into the services they provide and the level of care, kindness and love they lead with rehabilitating and stabilizing the unhoused community. The state should literally give these people 50% of their budget to create facilities throughout Southern California

Yes , that would be a VERY Welcomed donation . All you have to do is bring it to the loading dock to drop it off. Hygiene kit's are always needed here. And thank you for thinking about the L. A. Mission. God bless you
Yes you can the on 4th floor for families at union rescue mission
Yeah you need to walk in around 5am and talk to the person inside the building. Then they will direct you to what you need to do. Must of the time. They need help in the kitchen and clean up and get things moving quickly for them to get ready for the day. Walk in and ask for a guy name Wonder Vaylor. I can help you get where you need to be
Yes but if you change your mind again you would have to wait 30 days to re-enter
Yes you may donate all the items. Just use the 316 Winston Street entrance behind the Mission.
Come into the Mission lobby. Speak with Mr. Keith Newton and he can help you .
Im thankful if youre offering me some sort of assistance. However since my departure from the Mission i have obtained full time employment and although i am couch surfing i have gotten the voucher for the pilot program. So, the Los Angeles Mission is truly a last of its kind in the helping facility... Im just thankful my choice to try and believe in myself and my year with them and how i have helped regain my confidence.
Im sure the help is there Chaplin jose perez can give you more 411

I really don't know how far it is from the Greyhound station but you can Monday through Friday at 900am to check in with Chaplain Newton in the lobby to apply to the Program.
Come into the lobby area and speak to Chaplain K. Newton. Have a open mind and a open heart. Trust & Believe !
The bus stop is in front of the Mission. Shelter available for 15 days. Tickets distribute beginning at 430pm.
I'm not sure because they have a beautiful chapel and they have a nice kitchen and dining area, but you would have to check with them directly to see if they rent any of that out

yes I think there are certain hours that is available u have to provide ur own amenities ie soap towels shampoo.
They have both a men's and women's program
Everything is by schedule, you need to be there at 4:30pm to f your in need of a bed. . . They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. . .
Now you you just have to go up there and see that's about the only way and be there before 5:00 pm so you can see if they have room for you,and if you want to get into the program which is Christians base I think you should be there before 8:00 am so if your serious just go up there to see cause you have to be there !!!
No. Men are put into one part of the los Angeles mission while women are put into another separate part of the mission. But no families can live there. For that type of situation the Rescue Mission on San Pedro Street is well suited where mothers live with their children. However, the father will still need to live separately from them in the men's section.
Yes you can, come early
The shelter and bridge program are full but others are available which include a bed to stay in.
The security office is open 24 hours not the shelter. For the mens shelter you have to line up by the front door at 7pm and they start taking names at 8pm but if its cold outside you have to get there early to get a spot. They only feed you breakfast and lunch. No dinner if your not in a program. They give everyone air mattresses that are filthy and get flat in a couple of hours. Wake up is at 5am breakfast is 8am.
Yes you can.. its best to get there early as possible
