Hello, the obvious to think negative about things because of past experiences. So I volunteered from out of town. I want you to know that there are a lot of people from all walks of life first of all who really do not know Jesus. 1. All donations have to be search through and check for inappropriate donations including food for security purpose, health and safety issues. 2. In some cases, the staff there may be homless or part of the program and are allowed to pick out stuff and I am not sure of all the rules. Like URM, to is a donation based and volunteer bases so some stuff people donated can be either outdated or does not meet standard. The best thing to do is make sure you are right, and see if you can volunteer to help out. Also, a lot of homeless people have issues just like those who are not. Pray for those people . Some people come there are not right and can be a hinderance to those who are really in need. The quiet ones who get overlooked. Pray against those demonic spirits
The Good Samaritan did not ask questions, he just took care of the man. If we look at the Mission as a place to show the LOVE OF CHRIST, we have the ANSWER.
A lot of the staff there are clients who live there. I know bc I live there and used to work the donations room and was given first choice of what I wanted but technically I didn’t get paid for my work. We have to pay rent there so they cut off part of our rent as an incentive, we’ll they used to
A lot of the staff have been there or volunteers. Or with extra plus left overs they can take a plate to eat too. I mean when food is at work or left over people eat it and the mission is their job and some may get seconds (people in need) sometimes there is left overs.
I came through URM and know that the people who you may think are staff members are mostly resident volunteers of the shelter. They work in exchange for their bed space, receive a very fair amount of donations, and are then able to put some of their benefits into the URM savings towards their pending housing. The mission is ran on the support of volunteers from inside and outside.
I stayed there and let me tell you now , they give you clothing only if you are really in need and for emergency other than that you have to ask your case manager for anything you want and the case manager will do their "best" to give you what they have either the same day or by the end of the week .... very conflicting .

Ignacio- you are telling the truth. It’s awful that people do things like that. That’s called stealing, whether they are donations or not, because they weren’t donated to the staff. Some people have no morals
