Hadestown was amazing! Beautiful theatre! Seating is typical theatre seating. If you're tall, it may not be very comfortable. Restroom lines are super long, so avoid using them if possible.

Beautiful! Saw Hadestown. Conspicuous presence of police around building ensures a safe arrival and departure. Unlike so many other venues, this one has retained its name for at least 50 years that I know of, rather than sell itself to the likes of a tire store chain. Excellent acoustics.

I saw neil degrasse tyson here and it was really good. The place was small ishhh but had all kinds of fancy decorations inside and staff was nice and friendly.

Old time feel! The vibes was very nice. Seats were comfy enough. My wife, mother in law and I saw Hamilton here and had a wonderful time. The setting was on point and made you feel immersed in the show.

August 1 5!
Pretty sure 1188 Mission St. (33 8th St.) - Trinity Place Garage is closest. That's where I parked. Booked through spot hero app.
Use the Civic center stop, the exit is on the block of the theater. You'll be able to see the theater immediately when exiting.
Yes
Yes they are. Fast food diners and a variety of near by restaurants
Yes, they were actively offering them at the production of My Fair Lady.
All shows are cancelled for the indefinite future. Starting tonight or tomorrow, so 3/14 definitely cancelled. Refunds will be given.
Try The Palace or Epic both are not far but uber to them
Get off at Civic Center. Exit the station either one of two places that UN Plaza exit or Market Street / Hyde exit.. once you see the orange coat security guards you know you have arrived. Enjoy your show
Around 2 and a half to 3 hours, tops, usually. That includes a 15 or 20 minute intermission.
Sorry unsure. Orpheum is larger and might. Just don't remember .
I believe an hour before the performance.
Yes about drinks.. you order via your cell and someone will bring to your seat.
Yes and you can order from your seat and they'll bring it to you 🙂
As of now the Orpheum cancelled all of their shows until next month. This includes HAMILTON.
I'm pretty sure they are
Call the box office and ask them. They will be able to tell you if your tickets are legitimate or not.
I am not sure if they have a separate seating area; however, the traditional seating area is very tight for even smaller individuals.
Civic Center on Larkin, and Trinity on 8th & Mission St. However like everybody else Bart is the best option.
The theater is not far from Union Square.
Street parking on side streets, not on Market Street.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Mon - Sat: 10am to 6pm Sun: Closed When the theatre is in performance the Box Office will remain open in the evening until 1/2 past curtain time and open at Noon on Sundays. Visit shnsf.com for more information and updates.
Call the theater.
Nope. Multiple food places at Westfield mall but nothing aroumd the Orpheum.

Yes be prepared even though SF can be known for its fashion, it is rarely seen. Wear whatever you are comfortable in and what you feel like. For me I find it disappointing but no one seems to dress up anymore including NYC. except maybe the MET. Have fun
Hotel Whitcomb is awesome, priced right and it's literally across the street.
They have something that kind of looks like headphones. It also can Bluetooth connect to hearing aids, if you have those kind of hearing aids. Basically, you put the headphones in your ears and there's a sensor and broadcast all of the music and voices straight into your ears as if you were wearing regular headphones. I use them for the last show we went to and it made a huge difference in being able to hear, especially the group numbers.
It's best to Uber or take a taxi to the theater. Maybe, find a nearby hotel in walking distance if you are coming from far away.
I would suggest taking Bart getting off on civic center walking up the stairs & right in front of the theater
We managed to ask a nearby hotel if they would let us park there. It worked out and even received valet parking. It was literally a few steps from the door a entrance. Best of luck.
Understudys are just as good as the headliners, and they have to be.Many who saw Lin Manuel Miranda's understudy said he was better than Miranda, after seeing Miranda's performance, and comparing the two. Theatre is not film. Going to see a live performance is about experiencing it as a whole, and not for just one player. With that type of reasoning, why see a traveling production at all? These are not the original cast members.
I don't think so, but there's a lottery for $10 tickets online.
SHN website
My guess is this is because Hamilton will still be playing for a while.
Yes, walk out of the theater front door and straight down the stairs to Bart. There you are at Bart.
There are high priced hotels near the theater the more family friendly hotels are near the wharf, Holiday inn and such but bus transit can get you to the theatre with no problem.
Yes, got seat numbers when we got there.
I'm not sure but they have parking in the back of the library across the street.
About 20min driving, 12.1 miles. If riding bart, 10 stops from SFO to Civic center. The theater is literally right across the street from Civic Bart station.
I would check the website, should have a contact number for someone that could help you.
The lottery is the best bet but they do sell some tickets the day of the show.
Someone had a medical emergency (presuming a heart attack) during a point that there was a gunshot in the performance. Someone else started screaming something about a gun. People started bailing out of the theater, thinking there was an active shooter or something.
Look in the website for that type of info
Yes you will😊
The Beresford is nearby and close to Union square. It cost less and is VERY clean. It is small but you can tell they have tried hard with the amenities they offer. I reccomend at least checking it out. It has mixed reviews on yelp but we took a chance and were pleasantly surprised.
No you can see the stage clearly from all seats.
The sooner the better. Hamilton will sell out fast
Yes, coat and bag check. It is located at the ticket window
You can buy tickets online, which might be the best bet.
SHN owns and operates theaters in San Francisco. It stands for: Shorenstein Hays Nederlander.
Yes there is. They find lots of items every day.
Th seating is open one hour before. But the main doors are open up to two hours before depending on the venues
Civic Center - there's an entrance right in front of the theater
All bags are subject to search, but they seem pretty reasonable
The speakers are mounted throughout the theater so the sounds come from all around in my experience.
Inside the theater. The staff will all point you in the correct direction
This should be available on ticket portal. At least that was the case when we booked our tickets.
No dress code specific to the theater, but really general common courtesy dictates dressing appropriately for the circumstances. Being well dressed shows respect for the performance. But, this is SF, and nice jeans often qualify as dressy here.
We have sent children into the theatre unaccompanied many times. I suspect, there could be an adults only performance, but it would be printed on the ticket.
John's Grill is located at 63 Ellis Street SF, which is 3 blocks (15in walk) on Market Street to the Orpheum theatre. This past weekend we ate at John's Grill then walked a block to the Powell St Bart station and took a 3 min train to Civic Center station (next stop), which dropped us right in front of the theatre. And there's a public parking garage right across from John's Grill so it's very convenient. We only paid $11 for parking and $2 for Bart. Recommend the Filet Mignon and clam chowder at John's Grill. Good luck!
Children under 5 years of age are not permitted in the theater. Child geared shows are exceptions.
Yes. We've had no problems when faced with similar circumstance.
There are a few parking structures close by. One directly across the street by the new apartment complex. Try the spothero app for pricing
There really isn't any public park space to eat a brought lunch. I'd eat before coming or budget for eating out while in the city.
Pre-packed snacks of candy, nuts and chips. No food of substance.
There are accessible stalls for women on the street level by going in bathroom door across from orchestra entrance 3. I'm not sure where the men's accessible restroom is but I'm sure it is also near there.
Abbott 4:45 or so.
They will allow you to pick Up will call starting two hours before the show.
