Life wouldn't be possible without RESTART! This organization in Kansas City has lots to offer all for a good cause.

This is supposed to be a place to help people but I have been there for a while now and have not gotten any closer to getting a place to live! Would never recommend this place.

The case workers could use some ethics training. I have watched several staff gossiping about a client when they thought she couldn't hear them. The behavior was shameful and heartbreaking to watch. If u r in social work that means u care about everyone u serve or come in contact with u. U r held to a hire standard if u r a professional.
Shannon Burton
Hello, my name is Shannon. I've been calling for the past year to get help with shelter. I've been able to hold things down until I had surgery. I just need a place to go for my family and I and would really love if someone answers back before my family and I are thrown out on the streets. I'm really starting to break down because I don't know what else to do and I don't have family that's willing to help out even though I have kids so I don't have family that I call family. We are out here alone. Please respond back.

Did you get the help you need ?
Yes it is
I'm not sure if you can just get a letter without staying there as a guest. Probably need too call them.
Yes. The sooner you call the better. They provide 3 meals and and a room to sleep in.
Yes go to the SAVE Inc in the morning on 31 street .
No identification is needed to get in to ReStart. As a matter of fact they will help you obtain an ID. Like Mr. Drummer said go there and you should have no trouble getting a bed. Good luck, God be with you.
ReStart can get you a place to stay, and they can provide meals. They also have a program to help work on a resume and get you employed. I think they have a program to help felons specifically too. You are probably perfect for them, give them a call!
I am a current employee and if they have space available they will have any services available for you my suggestion is to call the local office on 9th Street in Kansas City and find out more information God bless you and your family
They can help you get into permanent housing
Two beds in each room
I'm a single woman with no kids and I stayed here in August 2019. Not sure how's they're doing now. When I stayed there I mean it's a shelter so it's not gonna be the most comfortable situation but most employees/case workers there are AMAZING and get people on food stamps, disability if you need it, you are in and out and if you really work for it while you're in there!!
Yes that would be very nice
I shared a room, up to 6 other Ladies, they do have lockers in the rooms. Just need to ask for an lock, with your floor caseworker. They are nice and understanding here. Show respect and they will do the same.
Is it bus able what is the latest time will they hold a room for you coming in from another state?
They are always accepting people of all ages. With or without children. Your son will have to contact ReStart either in person or by phone.
They will take a lesbian couple and 1 dog only if its a service dog
It all depends on your current situation u might get a room by yourself or if you got kids its best just to show up at 1444 E.8th st and paseo m-f 9am best to be there early its a first come first serve basis
Suggest you call police, or go to nearest Rediscovery location, they can/will give you referrals.
Yes
I think that they do
Yes they are. Call them please!!!
I have been donating clothes and toys to Restart for years and helped out in the kitchen on some holidays... True happiness is helping others in need.....
I have lived there and i am going to say yes they do not discriminate at all. They are a great bunch of people very caring
I could suggest another option that could possibly be a more supportive resource depending on some specifics surrounding her circumstances. First of all, does she have transportation?
You would need to contact them and get all the particulars.
Yes they do. 😇
It's a homeless shelter
Yes if they have children
they have a family side long as hes the child's father or married otherwise he will be on single mens floor u will b on women with children floor
If that's your only option then yeah but if you have any other options use those first ?
You can call up there or have a referral from a case manager.
Intake paperwork.
Sorry I can not help. I know nothing about that
Well there's no drug-testing doing intake they give you you have to give them a urine analysisother than that if you just stay focused on what you need to do and always consult with your case manager you will be fine
I really can't answer that question. You would have to call them or your P. O would have to call them to see about that.
Yes. Also no guarantee couple will be together if no kids.
We are out of town 35 miles you can probably find some onecliser
You have to go there and interview with them.
They have a floor specifically for family's
If there is a couples room available and if ur married
Please call 472-5664 and ask about open beds. From there you will either speak with someone or someone will call you back and ask you detailed questions and see whether or not we can facilitate. Take care
Go to the offices in 8th and Paseo. Being homeless is about the only requirement that I know of. And not a convicted sex offender. Not sure of the time
Yes they can help u with that with a job.
It's a homeless shelter so they help who they can
I dont work there but i wss staying there you shoyld try calling and ask them thw same questiob somebody should help you.....sorry
They do take families, but you have to have a child.
What can help u with
Go to restart they should be able to help u
I suggest you call them.
Go to the ReStart building on 8th and Paseo. That's how you find out about openings, they also have other numbers for different places just in case.
Thank you. I filled out for a position and j will also call Ann in the morning.
Call or visit Mon thru Fri 10am
You have to go to the community kitchen
Several programs , they help u to reintegrate u back to society, they help with housing and substance abuse
He can call em to c if he can talk to em on the 📱 on his break or lunch time. or find a way to go there between 8,and 9 am coz if goes after 9 am he ain't gonna b successful about him getting into restart...if I could b him I find a day off or b late for few hrs to work to c if he can find himself a bed soon is better
Yes I agree call them directly or Cityunionmission family center.
The reason people are seperated if at all is because of availability of beds. Better to be in the same building in different rooms that on the street.
Go to the location off paseo by downtown
Their availability changes daily. They try to make room for couples to stay together but you may have to go into separate rooms, same building. If you call them they will let ypu know what is available.
When you need help use every resource available. Restart is a resource, whether others have a personal issue with them has no relevancy to your life, use every resource available. Dial 311 for information on all resources available to you.
Go over there head Ms.Rochelle is head over 3rd and 2nd floor she will be the one u needs to talk to if u get know where with her than nexts is Ms.Craig she's the CEO of restart
Yes
Mon to Fri. They also have breakfast 7am-9am.
If you have a kid yes, but if not you'll most likely be separated.
Yes they are very helpful
If we went there would that room be our room while we stay there or would we switch rooms Everytime we leave and come back?
Yes! Very inclusive!
You are talking to the wrong person, I'm just an individual who gives donations to this organization. Please contact the organization directly thank you.
Me. My fiance (also a woman) . and my two boys ages 9 and 12
Thanks alot for the feed back i have 2wks b4 we are evicted!
You don't need paystubs.... not sure what he is talking about because 90% of people there don't have a job.... it's not a requirement. I was there recently for about 4 m onthes and had a job and never had to show pay stubs. Ok go down to restart at corner of 8th & paseo And they will tell you if there are any openings. If they say no come back the next day again... it is kinda one of those squeaky wheel scenarios. Good luck
Background checks? Anyone is welcome at restart I'm sure. I used to live on a floor that had nothing but felons. Vets, youth, families, teen moms etc
That depends on your reputation. I've been there about four times now, both in youth and adult, and i can see go back if i need it. Do good and they'll help.
It varies from person to person.... most are 3 monthes to a year depending on if and when you try and get back on your feet
No they do not they will run your name threw the sex offender and child molester regestry to see if your name is own it you will not be allowed in restart
You can do it by yourself...
Yes they accept everything
