I brought in a vintage super deluxe sewing machine by White with a very powerful motor and an enormous amount of rust and oil buildup on the interior. I was a pretty demanding customer and I rushed in with very little time, as I had to use an Uber to get to the shop from San Francisco, and then go to a meeting. I also came to pick it up right before they closed. I was very unsure about the new ownership and the quality of the work and asked the repair person to demonstrate that my machine was working, and he did so, even though it went overtime for his closure. His daughter was with him and she is absolutely a sweet, sweet soul and let me charge my phone after the store had closed. The service was not a bargain but it was not over-priced either; it was absolutely fair and I think another shop may have refused to touch the machine or charged more. My machine, which was non-functional ( I wasn’t even sure it would ever work) is working absolutely beautifully. In light of the amount of work done and the quality I feel absolutely fine about the fees. I know some were used to the very, very low prices of the former owner but the quality and the fair prices of the new owner make this shop in Berkeley a treasure. It was worth taking a very heavy old machine over the bay in an Uber to get it cared for. It’s very hard when a shop that you’ve known and loved a long time changes owners but my trust in the new shop and it’s quality is at 100%! So happy that berkeley sewing and vacuum is in their care.

I took in my broken vacuum cleaner to get a fix estimate; 20 minutes later I walked out with a working unit. These guys are very good and exceptionally reasonable in price in this day and age. I highly recommend them.

My question is, those who've used this service recently, were you charged a deposit?? This company was small, family owned, affordable, professional and understood good business. My mother has used their service for years. We took our vacuums there to be charged a really expensive amount for "to be serviced". I mean we've taken SEVERAL vacuums prior for an array of reasons; never charged anything near that amount. This company is not sounding anything like the service we remember, or what service should be.

The best! My first visit was to have my vacuum cleaner looked at - Presto! all my problems were corrected. Next., I brought a client's ancient/antique sewing machine in and they got it working! Plus - they fixed his vacuum cleaner. These guys can fix anything - and they are great guys, fair pricing and easy parking. Bring quarters.

Don't know. I only use their sewing machine services
Yes they do I recently had my wife's machine serviced there.
Yes, we do fix sergers. Estimates are always free so please feel free to stop by anytime so we can take a look and go from there. Hope to see you soon!
can not answer this question without knowing the model #. repair estimates are always free so please feel free to stop by with it. We'd be happy to verify the problem then let you know what is needed and estimate how much. Don't have much in the refurbished (most are too broken or worth fixing) currently have 2 refurbished.
We'd recommend Richmond Vacuum & Sewing @ 1152 23rd st in Richmond for this repair
we definitely can take a look estimates are always free. Sometimes the cord reels are repairable sometimes not and depending on unit and parts availability.
Yes, they sure do! Their competence and service are outstanding.
