We went on weekend with children and grandchildren and we all lost in crowd and fun. The ride Typhoon and the Haunted Castle terrifying. The Sky Gliders and the one wooden boat water ride were exiting. We enjoyed good food alongside. We played hilarious Jungle Climb and The great water race and yes the Break the Plates was rewarding and a great fun. At the beach we played to the full of our energy and also with the forming waves, it was really very good experience we ever had, than we relaxed. In the evening it was too cold for us. The Board Walk and the beach, as we felt, is safe and secured and good for full day family outing. Though a bit heavy on pocket.

It's a great place to have some fun! There are a wide variety of rides to go on, from the Cyclone, Tsunami, Sea Swings, the Big Dipper, and many more. A few restrooms are included in the area although their may be a 5-15 minute wait in some cases. Alongside the Boardwalk you could head to the beach with clear views (especially during summer.) Although, it's important to bring hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses if you don't want to get burned easily. You may get tickets in-person or online for a faster entrance to the rides. *It's free to enter the Boardwalk if you don't want to go on rides. It's usually very crowded everyday so please try to come in advance if you would like to find alternative parking options. Otherwise, enjoy your stay at the Boardwalk! 🎢

Lots of fun, and a good place to spend some time for both nearby locals and tourists alike!! Me and my honey travel to Santa Cruz pretty frequently, and in doing so we're presented with a lot of options of coming to the boardwalk during the season. A word of advice: if you're in a similar boat, definitely get the season pass. It's $100 and when rides cost anywhere from 2-10 tickets per single ride, it becomes well worth it. Especially when an unlimited day wristband is just half the price! It'll pay for itself in no time.

Not a ton of rides or shops but definitely a fun afternoon. Do not be fooled by the oldest roller coaster. It is an insanely fun & thrilling ride. Lines weren’t too terrible but going earlier in the day is smart. The beach is beautiful & a nice spot to have lunch.

I work here. No pets allowed. Service animals are okay. (Emotional support animals not allowed. Does not count as service animal) don't believe the people saying they are allowed because you may be asked to leave by our security. Additionally, dogs are not allowed on beaches due to the law.
Yes but you can only see them on a certain day just look for the rabbits
There is metered parking in the immediate area... right across the street and at the end of beach street are parking lots.... I was just there a week ago, parking is $10
You are correct all day
It is now yes but you have to buy your ride bracelet beforehand to reserve your place as only limited people allowed!!
There are a couple shower areas but they are outside and very open. However, you can shower off then go to the bathrooms to change.
I was there on friday and the boardwalk wasn't open I think during the winter and early spring thwy are only open on the weekend!
Absolutely 😀 Watch the boardwalk shots in the movie and you will easily recognize the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. Walk the boardwalk then watch the film, it is fun to do.
Alot of people had there dogs with them it seems to going ok I seen no problem 💯😊
A beautiful city, now it is closed they open it in summer, the UCSC is very big and is in a big forest
Thats incorrect actually they have some slides open now and go carts open as well as some games and most food vendors. The beach is open as well but you must wear your mask to get into the beach and the boardwalk.
Yes, free concert too by 10,000 maniacs.
You can go on the beach and boardwalk for free. Only if you want to ride the rides do you have to pay. You have free access to boardwalk for food, the beach and stores. There is an all day parking lot across or next to the boardwalk in various areas and parking meters on the street if you only have a couple hours.
Sorry Antonio we don't live there.
Especially in the area near the main Broadwalk gate, there is a bay that forms a small pool with waist deep water thay is significantly warmer water than the open sea and very safe for the littke ones since there is no waves. After seeing the movie Us, we went back there this Spring to look for the spots where it was filmed, and that shallow pool area has been filled up completely. But the other beach area were open and crowed as usual. Fun place. And if in the area, must check out the Natural Bridge beach, just 10 min away but without the crowds
Yeah they have the standard ones that go around in a one way circle and they have "Bumper Cars Of The Future". They don't have a steering wheel they have 2 sticks you pull or push to spin or go backwards and forwards
I am not sure about the price of that but the food over there is not so costly
I do not remember which days it remains open. I went for the weekend
a
The 37th Annual Clam Chowder Cook-Off & Festival Saturday-Sunday, February 24-25, 2018 Now a 2-Day Event! Rain or Shine!!
Vampires need to relax, but they prefer to enjoy their stay during night time. Told us that the sun was too intense for them and bit my husband. Pretty rude to be honest. But it was whatever, he ate some garlic fries a few hours before the incident.
You can walk around almost all year but they have seasons where rides are open mainly summer time and maybe special event times, beach is always available
The hour of the park is Mon through Friday 11-5 Sat and Sunday 11-9
I went friday and it was 10-15 mins per ride on a line aprox on the big rides
No. You can purchase online and be a resident of anywhere. They do limit the number of wristbands sold for any specific day however.
When I went some of the food courts on the boardwalk were open and along the pier also open ,but all take out of course. The rides are shut down though. I can't wait to go again.
I believe at one point there was a wooden slide indoors, it was called "The Fun House" last I recall its not in use anymore.
Yea, the nearby Beach Flats is still pretty much our Ghetto area. If you do go down there to score, be careful. I'd recommend against it, honestly, unless you know someone who lives here. Otherwise there's a good chance you're gonna get jacked (ripped off) by the local scraps. The local gang color for that specific area is blue, as well. So be aware if you're wearing red. They don't play around down there lol
I didnt see any. The paths and roads were flat and good for those who unsteady on their feet
Yes you can. Although the boardwalk is closed you can still walk through it and there are also many other entrances to the beach
Its free everyday you just have to pay for parking And rides if you like rides but other than that the board walk is free to enter and the beach is free as well.
No there are not. There are lifeguard towers with lifeguards from April to Sept, however.
There are some foot wash stations and outside showers to rinse off located near some of the stairs to the beach from the Boardwalk.
And
Yes
They are open. Check the website for specific hours. 9am-11pm
Yes; busiest day of the year by far! Even have fireworks on the beach.
Yes you can. & Take a blankie and a jacket/sweater.
We have height requirements listed for rides. Please call our Guest Services at (831) 423-5590. Some rides do have other requirements.
Regarding the Main Beach, here is the City of Santa Cruz Parks & Rec link for information: http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-departments/parks-recreation/parks-beaches-open-spaces/beaches-aquatics
Please refer to the City of Santa Cruz Parks & Rec website for bbq guidelines: http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-departments/fire-department/marine-safety-division/beach-fires-bbq-s
Open for limited rides weather permitting from 12noon until 7pm.
Information area has all available maps and boardwalk information.
Once the board walk closes down, they kick everyone off the beach as well.
In addition to the extended specific "bring a friend days" you do get a $5 discount on up to for wristbands any day.
Very expensive. A 1300 square foot house can be $1mil, if it's a nice place.
Rides are only open on the weekends from 11:00-7:00 closed after Halloween i believe.
By Neptunes Kingdom where are the arcade games there are ample bathrooms for if you want to give a change of clothes.
It's not a bracelet, it's a card, the raites cost between 8 dollars it depends. The raite is sometimes less if you buy 50 dollars on the card you can upload about 7 times The raites of the games are different than in other places
You shouldn't have to, you could just bring a bike lock and you will be fine.
Yes you can even if the park itself is closed. The Boardwalk always opens its gates within an hour of Sunrise to allow the public access to the public beach. Keep in mind tho that the bathrooms on the walk may not be open, you may have to walk to the bathroom at the bowling alley (which is not open until later in the morning) or the public beach bathrooms at the opening of the wharf next to 'Ideal Bar & Grill'
They are having a new one built. It will be back in some time they say. My guess 2022/2023
Lots of dogs their no one enforcing the rule so I guess its fine.
If you can go up to the games, standing in line with face masks and there are people who do not use it ... it is a matter of each person.
Slide and pedal car track thing were both oppen. A few food stands and some of the arcades
Just to keep family safe, I'd wait until vaccines are free flowing
Yes restaurants for take out, everything on the pier is open as well. The amusement and casino is not open
I think the new year is closed but talk on the weekend but the guegos do not have a function
They have limited rides open on New Years Day & New Years Eve, yes.
Yes, we are open with Limited Rides plus Holiday Ice (ice skating at the beach and festive fun). You can check out our page for the most current hours: https://beachboardwalk.com/Hours
39.95$ + tax for a daily pass
They open 7 days a week in summer only.
They weren't open when we went. In September a few weeks ago. On a Friday afternoon. Which seemed absurd. [lol]
How much are the day pass wristband tickets at the boardwalk?
I do not know. It would be wonderful for the girls if it is. They would have an amazing time. Love the girl scouts! 💖😂
September month yes stores are open
I was there about a month ago and a ton of people had tents as well as canopies. 🤙
What's your price range? We stayed about 45 min outside of santa cruz, in south san jose, to save money. Can get a nice hotel in that area under $160, nothing near that range in santa Cruz.
On Tuesdays during summer after 5 pm all rides are 1.50
All year a round !crafty MJ.😍
Yes, I was just there on Monday. They opened at 11am.
And the Slushi place offers all day refills for 11 bucks. Well worth it, as a 16 ounce soda is 4 bucks
I would definitely say dirty! I absolutely would not recommend changing and having to put your bare feet on the ground or set anythng down! Plus there aren't any shelves, so there isn't any other real alternative! Plus the floors are sandy, so....
This one doesn't allow them. Seabright beach allows bonfires.
The pass costs $40, and the access to the park is free.
Yes they did have Turkey legs however I did not see the price
It's approximately the temperature of Mitch McConnell's heart when he hears about the plight of migrants. So like, not easy to get used to.
There is not a very lot of shade so you will have to dress appropriately make sure you have shorts, sandals something cool or you can bring you a tint to put on the beach for shade
I know there used to be henna art...not sure if it's still there but as far as jagua..I'm not sure ..sorry..completely clueless
Yes, there are few showers to wash ur feet and hands...not to take a bath.
I think, if I remember correctly

Boardwalk rides are open daily from late May through late August, plus most weekends and holidays throughout the year, weather permitting. ... The Boardwalk Bowl, Casino Arcade, and Neptune's Kingdom including mini-golf and games, are all open year-round.
Yes you can. Just show up with any Coca cola can, head to the awnings throughout the boardwalk, hand them your coke can and they will give you a voucher. You take that voucher to the ticket booth to pay for your wristband. Then you can ride the rides unlimited until the park closes.
About $80 and up.
It is very good to bring the family to the beach. Parking $ 15 if not on the street at $ 1.50 per hour
They have open showers
I'm not sure I'm sure they have some kind of event going on
No fireworks. They are banned in the city of Santa Cruz.
Not really most are card and tap as you play
Yes, my personal favorite was the typhoon and I also liked the drop ride.
It really depends on you. How busy you make it. We mossied along on the boardwalk and spent some time on the beach and then went back to the boardwalk. The lines were not long early in the day and if they were they moved pretty quickly. I would suggest you arrive early because as the day went on it got more and more crowded. We saved on the wristbands by purchasing them at Costco.
It is illegal as per the signs on the beach, I have no idea how diligently are they enforced.
Boardwalk has bathrooms down at the end. It also has lots of parking.
Animals needed to assist guests (such as guide dogs) are welcome at the Boardwalk. To learn more about service animals, please visit http://www.ada.gov/service_animals_2010.pdf Other pets are not allowed on the Boardwalk or on the adjoining Santa Cruz Main Beach. For more information on dog-friendly Santa Cruz parks and beaches, please visit http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-departments/parks-recreation/parks-beaches-open-spaces/dog-off-leash-areas There are several boarding/kennel facilities within the Santa Cruz area. Please do not leave your pet in a warm car.
Please call our Guest Services at (831) 423‑5590 with your question.
I mean there are bad people everywhere, but this is a more urban area so with the increased population density of course the crime rate would increase. Though this area is pretty safe from my experience.
Not sure what u mean by sky ride, but the big tall rides are 7 dollars at most
Funny, that what I went looking for, I found the bridge the bampires jumped off.
Yes
Yes there is parking. When I went on a Thursday it was $10 for all day
You can check out our hours here: https://beachboardwalk.com/Hours
No
We make the decision of which rides will open every day based on the current conditions and the weather forecast. Please call Guest Services at 831 423-5590 on the day you plan to come to get the latest info. The arcades, mini golf, laser tag, and bowling are open daily! -wq

Preparation, being rushed never produces food that looks good.
Saturday 11 am-9pm Sunday 11 am-8pm Weekdays from 12 pm- 5pm
I agree with Chad, Laura and Yvonne. There's also people watching long as your not creepy
I just went last month, and they were only open on the weekends. And it depends what you're looking for. Santa Monica and Santa Cruz are very different experiences lol. Imo Santa Cruz is way better.
You are able to wear sandals however, to go on rides, footwear is required.
Just do not leave trash and avoid disturbances
Hi Andrea, Here is a link to our pet policy: https://beachboardwalk.com/FAQs#72615-are-pets-allowed-at-the-boardwalk
My self didn't see any, but you should go. There's nothing to be afraid and plus is just a movie
Yes
Crawling out of the ocean
Usually on weekends we have more visitors. These are the days when people go out with friends and family, they reserve for rest and fun. And the park adapted the operation according to the movement.
Getting in is free, but the rides cost tickets. You can also buy an unlimited wristband for rides and maybe some games. Check their website for what works best for you. The games cost anywhere from .50 to 2.00 depending.
The Dream inn is the closest, there is also the Howard Johnson and casablanca inn.
Usually not so warm in December little windy as well at certain times of the day. The boardwalk may be closed as far as rides but the mini golf and arcade should still be open.
I dont believe so. Its also not listed on their events section on their website for this year.
The park is open every day, but the rides at the amusement park are open only on weekends in February.
If you mean the rides they're open today thru Sunday from noon to 7pm.
You can go on their website to see what deals they have available. https://beachboardwalk.com/Discounts
30 for wristband for unlimited rides or you can pay individually for tickets for each ride. But it's free to walk around the boardwalk.
Yes one by undertow and it's been there since 1911
952 Disc Dr Scotts Valley, California camp and RV sites
Yes dog friendly but they jave tobe on a leash i hope this helps
Hi, Jillian! Yes, gas grill BBQs are allowed. Please check out the official information from the City of Santa Cruz here: http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-departments/fire-department/marine-safety-division/beach-fires-bbq-s Have fun! Donaven Staab Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
The boardwalk will only be open on weekends after Halloween from about 11-7
Should be open by that time. Otherwise, plenty parking around. Only thing about street parking is that is mostly metered. Look online for other partying structures nearby.
Dogs are not allow on the Boardwalk or beach. There is a dog beach near the lighthouse on West Cliff.
Sure, people bring babies all the time
because is the boardwalk off-season and after this coming weekend after this Friday they're only be open during the weekends after Labor Day Monday
Hi, Denise The answer is yes 😃 Here's the latest from the City of Santa Cruz regarding this: Gas grills are allowed on City beaches - BUT if the lifeguards or rangers deems the grill to be unsafe or too large; the BBQ will need to be removed. Charcoal barbecues will no longer be allowed on our City beaches. This is in large part due to safety and environmental concerns related to people burying coals in the sand after a barbecue on the beach. http://www.cityofsantacruz.com/government/city-departments/fire-department/marine-safety-division/beach-fires-bbq-s Have fun! Donaven Staab Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
In the off-season it is only open Saturday/Sunday and finishes by 5pm, but it stays open much later in the summer months.
Good question i cant answer that sorry. I was a visitor myself
Yes, just call them.
Maybe at Boardwalk Bowl across the street.
Nope. Beaches in California are public (99% of them). The Boardwalk admission is free -- pay for rides by the ride or by the day as you prefer. The shows are free. The beach is free. Parking is $15/day, less if you hunt around and/or walk more.
You have to pick up the wrist bands at the boardwalk
Free to walk around.wrist bads are like $30 for allday or you can buy cards and put money on them
You can buy "it" at stores that sell DVD's in horror section, but I have never seen a store at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk sell it. Also, you can visit The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk for free, but you can not actually buy it in a store.
It's just amazing I love so many rides there, Double Shot, Giant Dipper, Undertow, Fireball, Cyclone, Typhoon, Shockwave, Loggers Revenge, and more!
7:00 would probably be too early, as they open at 11:00, you might want to get there around 9 at the earliest
Yes.
Your fine I weigh more than you.
Same old, same old. There will be fireworks. #Combinations
Nope, the city still has not caught up with demand.... keep Santa Cruz weird 🙄
If you'd like to escape the crowds and do something different and relaxing, check out the train that goes to Roaring Camp in Felton. It's about $30 per person round trip, and takes about an hour each way. The train goes through Santa Cruz after leaving the boardwalk and winds through the redwoods of Henry Cowell state park until it reaches Roaring Camp in Felton. At Roaring Camp there's lots to do for all ages, it's great for family outings.
I doubt that. It is recommended if you carry your own food. (Just to be on the safer side.)
Parking was $15 and the unlimited wristband was $40. You can park on a residential street farther away but it's not the nicest area to walk through.
Yes same excluding taxes which is minimal
The bracelets are $39.95, im not so sure if they are the same price and in my experience its really fun for any time!
The biggest rule is no bottles on the beach. The dog rule isn't enforced ever.
Yes, just make sure you have a bag to clean up any mess they make
If it is faster than 25mph it will close but other that that it won't
There a few at the boardwalk one is in the arcade the other is by the carosuel entrance. They charge like a $3.00 fee per withdrawal
Summer hours of operation start in two weeks
Beach is open later then the boardwalk, boardwalk closes at 5pm until summer starts
Wow, are you writing a history book about the boardwalk? Check google, thete might be answers to these questions there.
Well that is a lot of questions that i believe the Santa Cruz Boardwalk could anzwer for you.
It depends on what you do a few spots to grab a bite & a drink too! No drinking on beach! Then if you choose to go on rides, you have to get it put on a card I put $20. Good for the day about $100 bucks!
It's at your own risk i believe. But I'm not sure about using anything other than your phone.
Your own risk
Yes
Its closed today due to rain. Check out the facebook page for up to date info.
There is a booth in front of the boardwalk entrence and there is one in the park near the haunted house
The Boardwalk is not closed on all Fridays. Boardwalk rides are open daily from late May through late August, plus most weekends and holidays throughout the year, weather permitting. A limited number of rides are also open daily in April and May. Rides are closed from December 1 through December 25 for winter maintenance. The Boardwalk Bowl, Casino Arcade, and Neptune’s Kingdomincluding mini-golf and games, are all open year-round, except December 25.
I saw Wednesday nights, but I think that information was old. Not sure if they updated it.
I think a bracelet would be cheaper. You can order them on line. As for age and height I'm sure that info could be found online also
Yes but if he meets the height requirements and can ride the baby rides does it cost anything?
You could also try a real estate agent they might know of rental companies who can do whole house rentals as well
If you are interested on rides, and beach activities, better time is on mid of summer. You can visit anytime to enjoy a day with family and friends.
I live within 5 miles of the Santa Cruz Wharf and Beach Boardwalk, but I would second the opinion for the Dream Inn, if that is in your budget. Bring clothes for cool weather. We have fog in the summer and if you don't have sweaters and long pants, you will be buying them.
Sorry, I didn't know because the weather was really cold and my husband and I only walked, went to the amusement park rides and ate at good restaurants))
But be ready to pay for parking, right across the street. It's worth doing.
It's the off season, so not much traffic
It depends on the time of year, but it's usually busiest about 3:00 or noon.
It's open all year round. What happens sometimes around spring is that they close some attractions in order to get them ready for Summer season... but still, opens.
The whole boardwalk isnt open in winter so some rides are closed on the south end of the boardwalk
I dont know for sure but I don't think so...weekends good chance though!
Open 7 days a week as far as im aware i would have thought so as people kids will b off on that day
Buy season pass it'll pay off for all the rides you want to get on and as many times
It is a nickel arcade now.
By car the Boardwalk is about 3 hours away from Fresno.
Yes, not a problem.
I don’t think you can rent wheelchairs here, but it’s wheelchair accessible mostly everywhere here if that helps.
Papa Doo Run Run played on Friday night.
The ride & attraction combo is $42.95. All day ride wristband is $36.95. Season pass is only $81.95.
Only service animals are allowed on the boardwalk, according to their website.
