Cozy setting but found staff unconcerned. We were anticipating to buy some kids books when my toddler grandson needed to be changed very quickly. There was a restroom a few steps away, but the young teenage worker asked us to go all the way down stairs through an elevator, a door, and to a restroom that does not have a kid changer. We improvised, but I just decided to leave and not buy any books. I understand protocol but with exceptions. Also, the place is set warm with very cold people. Also, why would children’s be upstairs?

Such a great local bookstore! I really appreciated how, when a pre-order was delayed due to COVID related supply chain disruptions, they were super helpful, reaching out to keep me updated on the status of the order. Plus there's a Cafe in the store with delicious coffee and pastries.

Great place and the black bear cafe is fantastic. The coffee is delicious and so are the pastries,good quality and wide variety. They integrate new items to the menu from time to time like soups or mac and cheese which is nice and again very tasty. I am glad there is such place in Belmont and it is definitely my new favorite spot in town.

Thanks for asking. Our store requires masks be worn by all staff and customers at all times. Only 15 customers are allowed in the store at any one time. We have online ordering and customers can choose to have their order shipped to them or opt for contactless curbside pickup. For contactless curbside pickup, the orders are placed in bags with the customers' names on them and put in boxes outside our back entrance so customers do not have to come into the store or interact with any other customers or employees. In addition, we sanitize all card readers, registers and other commonly touched surfaces regularly and have 2 commercial HEPA air filters running 24 hours a day in addition to our regular HVAC ventilation system. Our staff has begun the vaccination process and we expect all employees to be fully vaccinated by mid-May. Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions/concerns.
Yes. When we were sending gift cards by regular 1st class mail, they were getting stolen. We now require that all gift cards be sent Priority Mail so that we can provide tracking and delivery confirmation. Sorry for the added expense.
