We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There wasn’t much of a wait which was great. Our service was fine, but I found the food to be average. We ordered a nacho appetizer with chicken. It came with a heaping portion of marinara sauce. That’s kind of strange. My companions ordered a BBQ sandwich each which apparently was super salty. My fish and chips was just kind of bland. Like I said, average.

Nice space! Loved the flights and the beer selection was good. The food was fine, I got the andouille soup and probably wouldn’t order it again, but overall, great place to grab a beer!

We stopped in here because we love beer- who doesn’t?! We decided to get some food as well. The beer was great and so was the food. We got two different types of loaded fries- the cheese and the Irish curry. Both phenomenal! The other two in our party did the lobster roll and the nachos and they say those were great too. I would happily return!

A great little brewery located in downtown Portsmouth. We had a really good customer service the feta spread was incredible and their chicken schnitzel was delicious. I highly recommend this place. Oh and the most important thing a great variety of beer.

Questions & Answers

I understand why you went away from using plastic straws, but why did you replace the little reusable metal side dishes like you use for a side of tartar sauce with throw away plastic one. Isn't that a step in the wrong direction.

Hi Greg, What Echo says is true. However, there's a bit more to the story. We'd been losing our stainless steel "bullets" at a frightful rate, so we decided to start serving dressings and sauces in those little pleated (compostable) paper "souffle" cups. A couple of weeks ago our supplier sent us compostable plastic cups as they were temporarily out of the paper ones. That's probably a lot more than you wanted to know, but we're glad to know you care! Cheers, The PB

What are the Covid safety practices like here?

Anonymous | Aug 19, 2022
Portsmouth Brewery | Aug 19, 2021

Good evening, Thanks for asking about our Covid safety practices. This a matter we take seriously Much of what we do is determined by guidelines issued by the CDC, the State and the City, including the number of seats we make available and the distince between them; requiring that customers wear masks at all times, except when seated; requiring that all staff wear masks at all times; checking staff temperatures at the start of each shift; providing hand sanitation stations for staff and customers; sanitizing surfaces between use; using single-use containers for condiments; &tc. We are also serious about contact tracing: staff who come into contact with someone who is infected or likely infected are not allowed to return to work until they've quarantined and been tested, according to CDC guidelines. Lastly, we've upgraded our HVAC system, adding ionizing filters to the system's air handlers.
