Visited the nature center after a hike through Placerita Canyon. The nature center includes some live animals and lots of info about the plants and animals in the area. The nearby nature trail runs along the creek. This is a great place to take kids to get some outdoor time and a little fun.

Beautiful LA County park. Immerse yourself in canyon chaparral, take a hike, listen to the natural sounds and please, please, leave your Bluetooth speakers at home. The staff and docents are friendly and helpful. It was such a wonderful pleasure meeting Sierra and Wheeler, resident Educational Ambassadors.

In Placerita Canyon several trails fan out from the nature center, many connected to each other. We started on the tiny hillside trail that quickly climbs to a bunch of rocks, and ended up on the canyon trail that crosses multiple times the stream flowing through the canyon. While the canyon was not carpeted with wildflowers, several species were seen along the trail. Several birds could also be heard and seen, including some swallows dive bombing a pair of red-tailed hawks.

Placerita offers a good range of trails from nice flat easy kid friendly hikes to moderate up hills. Plenty of picnic tables for a peaceful family lunch.

Yes, you can bring your dog; also, some doggie bags for clean up and water for your dog too.
No the larger trail that leads all the way to the waterfalls is not open. It is really unfortunate because it's one of my favorite trails in SoCal. Hopefully soon. I would say call the park rangers at Placerita State Park and ask if it will be opening any time this year. But honestly with all the rain I think they wont open it due to possible mud slides. But fingers crossed that they open.
Rattle snakes, bunnies, birds, and more!

Its open sunrise to sunset don't think they are ok with going without it being open
Its free, parking is free as well. They do have a gift shop that is open occasionaly though. Prices vary there but are not too bad.
To find the mural, follow the creek away from the nature center, past the parking lot. Mutual painted on wall of tunnel under the road.
There's a port a potty in the parking lot and normal restrooms by the nature center.
They gave free parking there.
No clue
You have to get permits if you want to camp. There are some spots for that
They are defiently starting to now with all the sunshine. Definetly worth going but I'd give it few more days.
Not certain. I would say the trails are specifically for walking, single file.
Check their website for hiking trail closures. Most trails are open but not all of them.
