I checked in with the receptionist 7 min before my Appt. I was seen within 10 min of my appointment time. The DMV will send a text to your phone with a link to an app that tells you how many people are ahead of you. So you can sit and relax rather than stand in an actual line. The app tells you what window to walk up to when its your turn. There is not enough parking on the property. Arrive early enough to find free street parking and walk to the building.

I would rate these illiterates and scammers a zero, if possible. It is such an oppressive and corrupt place. The DMV counter staff, with a cheerless attitude, tried to overcharge (scam) me about $654, which she loaded with extra taxes and penalties, thinking I’m as ignorant as they mostly are at the DMV. But, being an informed customer, I redirected the staff to look closely at the vehicle registration form that I filled out to see the amount I had already paid to Arizona for sales tax and that the car was brought into California 7 days prior to my DMV visit, not the 30 days she assumed. Consequently, the staff was compelled to remove the taxes that was added, as well as the penalty for assuming I brought the car into CA on the day it was purchased — 06/01/22, rather than the 07/07/22 that I brought it into CA, which was clearly written on the form. Miraculously, the fees came down to $274. CA DMV needs to ensure they are hiring competent people who should objectively and thoroughly read the forms that customers fill out, so that they can consistently arrive at the correct fees. I wonder how many customers have been overcharged without anyone advocating on their behalf.

A lot of the staff have some serious attitude issues and the wait was long. I went in for my driving test and they had one proctor doing all the tests. Took me an hour to finally get to the front of the line. I was doing great on my test until I had to make a u turn. The instructor grabbed the wheel when I was doing my turn and then proceeded to yell at me for turning into the right hand lane. He automatically failed me for that. I’m genuinely so confused as to why this happened because it’s difficult and dangerous to make a u turn into the closest left lane. I even looked it up on the drivers Ed website and it says to turn into the right lane. Staff has no clue what they are doing, don’t waste your time here!

This is the second absolutely painless visit I’ve taken to this DMV. Fast and friendly, couldn’t ask for more. This time I went there were literally no lines, I didn’t wait for more than 20 seconds in any line during my visit. Everyone is friendly here and I think I was in and out in literally 30 minutes.

35 dollar fee.
How do I set up an appointment
No, sorry. You can renew and print your vehicle registration and license plate stickers on the spot, along with other transactions. See cadmvnow.com for a full list of things you can do at the kiosk.
Make an appointment and go to the front of the line!
If you get their 720 am which is 40 minutes before they open you can usually get out in an hour is so, depending on what your trying to accomplish.
Yes
Yes, please :).
Sorry, not at the kiosk. You can renew and print your vehicle registration and license plate stickers on the spot, along with other transactions. See cadmvnow.com for a full list of things you can do at the kiosk.
Only if you received a notice from the DMV stating you have appear in person to renew it.
If you're gonna do an change of ownership through DMV yes you do.
Yes true I would consider contacting the DMV in Sacramento in regards to your Bill of sale secondly you could call your financial advisor.
I can't remember. I think i paid 32$
At DMV. THEY know past history of DL AND CONVICTIONS.
Yes, you can use either!
The best bet is a local library, civic center etc. We got ours about a year ago thru the library in our city with an appt. Post offices have special events, a few times a year, but it was a madhouse and we left. Look online for plenty of info in your city☺
If the smog cert has shown up on the DMV end, then yes, it will print your decal immediately!
Yes
No
Not sure about IS. But for sure you can get a driver's license. Even though you don't have citizenship. All you have to bring is any type of ID from Mexico or wherever. Matricula? Or whatever is called? Anything with your name and picture. Then you need to prove you are living in .CA. a phone bill, electric bill anything with your name and .CA address. Lastly, practice for the written test. I believe it is available in Spanish As well. Pass it. Then pass the drivers test. Now keep in mind it is just a driver's license. That doesn't get you in and out of the country or anything. Just a license to drive. Got this from experience a family member, got his car towed for not having a license. No papers.
Yes it is... Mon-Fri 8a to 5p Wed. 9a to 5p Closed Saturdays and Sundays
No, san Fernando office is
Just need to call the office in newhall and they can reschedule or edit any existing appointment to your needs
Yes, but you will have a long wait. If you make an appointment on line you'll only wait about 20 min.
Yes you can just have to fill out the application before the process can began
I would if I was you. That way they will take you right in and not have to wait an hour and a half
On the Newhall DMV website they have a graph showing what hours are slow and busy. It is a great tool for everyone to use. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.
You can walk in too. Appointments are faster but they accept walk in.
Birth certificate
No but best to make an appointment so u can avoid long wait
You gotta go there. For sure
Most are mailed to you.
Good question ..... hhmm🤔
Be waiting at 630 am!! Bring a chair and all your documents. They still want to see them in person!!!
Make sure you bring all documents with you as well. Try the get in line....I believe that is the appointment option.
You can get appointment online. You can also get in line online, very convenient. Get in line while at home, drive to office and wait in your car, you'll get updates on the queue and a text msg when you're up. https://mt-cadmvoas.us.qmatic.cloud/branches
Pink slip and bill of sale to the person who you selling and your license and the current registration
No, I recently went to get my Real-ID and the "appointment/express lane" was pointless. The print out state you do not need to wait in line and just go straight to the counter. Staff said I still have to wait just like the rest. You can also go to the DMV website to change your address, it'll update in their system but you won't have a new ID. Also don't forget to upload your documents via dmv portal and have the physical documents. Before they require you to bring documents but now it's both, you need to upload them beforehand and also have it physically with you when arriving.
You can make a appt with them
Ya it closes at 5pm
I don't know I'm sorry
Hi for the real ID card is $32.00 but go early because is always busy have a nice day
You should call the dmv or go in person in order to have your question answered.
Yes but go super early and wait in line around 5am, otherwise it will be an all day wait and/or you will have to come back another day... just make sure you have all your documents with you...
Not only from Monday to Friday and now it is by appointment
Yes you can. Make sure you create a online appointment for faster service. Otherwise prepare for a 3-5 hour wait.
It's better if you sign in through the internet then you'll receive a confirmation, however you can do it while you wait in line just.like I did the you'll be served very fast...
I would contact the DMV for any questions they will contact you.your I'd expire on your birth day month issued on your receipt of payment.
Its offered at any dmv. As long you have the requirements.
Yes... I got my real id there but be sure to complete the application online and bring the necessary proof with you...and make an appointment!
Yes.
A utility bill or credit card bill. Something proving your address. The website has a list of acceptable items
I dont think you need to show it. But, if you want to be safe. Take it
Lyons
Your birth certificate as long as it is not an abstract will work for an identification card your old school ID makes no difference to DMV
No
You can pay your registration using the kiosk
If you have one critical thinking error will you be able to pass it I got 97%
The kiosk should have an option to do that
Sorry, you can not renew your license at the kiosk. Visit the cadmvnow.com website for a complete list of the transactions you can do at the kiosk.
Go to the dmv website Dmv.org
I'd go with Karin's advise. I really have no idea, haven't heard of any program like that.
No, sorry, not at the kiosk.
No fees for d first attempt but, $7 for d second attempt
It could be ready the same day, but to be safe it is recommended to wait 24 hours for it to show up in the system.

Please see complete list of transactions at cadmvnow.com
Yes, you can still renew to avoid additional late fees. Once smog passes and the DMV receives that info, your new registration and decal will be mailed to you.

Sorry, not at the kiosk.
Forever if u don't have appt.
Sorry no, you can only renew your vehicle registration or file for planned non operation status at the kiosks.
Yes Bertha's got it right. But getting any money back is doubtful at best. Good luck
730 there is already a line, so the earlier the better. If you dont have to take the test,( eye chart and picture only )just over an hour
You need either your most recent registration card or your renewal notice to use the kiosk.
Once renewed it can take up to 30 days to get in the mail.
You'll need to have a recently completed smog check to use a kiosk for registration.
Sorry, you'll need to contact the DMV. This is a registration renewal kiosk.
Fifty dollars to order and then 43 each year for renewal
Yes, get there 715 am wait in line until they open and you'll be out of there by 900
Please contact the DMV. This is a registration renewal kiosk only.
The plastic card can take over a month to be issued and sent.
3+ hr wait. Cutting line in front of someone who waited that long is guaranteed to anger some people. Make an appt!
They also have kiosk's around the city (check their website) So you don't even have to go to the DMV.
Normally appointments are booked solid for a week+ in advance.
No, sorry. Your stickers will be mailed to you as soon as the smog test info is updated the DMV system.
Hour plus if you don't have an appointment
No, sorry. You can renew and print your vehicle registration and license plate stickers on the spot, along with other transactions. See cadmvnow.com for a full list of things you can do at the kiosk.

No, you can apply with or without an appointment, as with almost everything. However your wait time will be significantly longer if you do not have an appointment.
I believe the first sat a month or not anymore.. Some grocery stores have the vending machine for registration and Triple A handles most DMV issues
Yes. I tried to get my license on August 8th and I spent five hours waiting at the DMV. When they closed, they told me I could skip the line the next day because I had been waiting, but they didn't let me anyways.
Highly recommended. This one is always busy
