While I haven't been to many alteration services in the past, I must say Sew Elegant really sets a high standard in terms of workmanship, customer service, and speed. I sought out their services when I had a lab coat that I needed sized down. I ordered the lab coat a size too large and as a result the sleeves were too long, the coat was too long, and everything was too wide (needless to say it was a bit of a mess). I walked in with my lab coat on a Monday around 4:30pm (just before they closed at 5:00pm). They gave me a quote on the spot and quickly pinned my lab coat, identifying where the alterations needed to be made. Afterwards, they informed me that I would be able to pick up my lab coat on Thursday. Talk about speedy work! That's barely 48 hr turn around - I was very impressed. Thursday came around and I was eager to see how the alterations turned out. When I received my item (all you need to do is present them with the yellow sheet that has your order information), I was beyond impressed with the workmanship. The skill level hear is really beyond reproach, and in all honestly I wouldn't have guessed it was an altered piece with how clean everything looked. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the work and I will definitely return for any future alteration needs!

I brought a dress to be taken in slightly to fit better. The way they pinned it was not the way they sewed it. Now it’s too tight in the hips and still baggy in the stomach. And of course the dress is ruined since they took too much fabric out of the hips. That can’t be undone. Now I’m out the money for both the alterations and the dress. I feel like I really screwed up trying to get it altered, because it was wearable before I brought it in, and now I just want to cry.

I needed uniform patches sewn on polo shirts, and came here because our school recommended it as a place that charges $2 per shirt. I asked about pricing at drop-off and she also said $2 per shirt. I paid in full in advance and my ticket was marked paid. When I picked my shirts up, I was told, "We made a mistake, the price is $3 per shirt," and they wouldn't give me the shirts until I paid more. Obviously this isn't acceptable, but I was in a hurry and just paid the difference. I would also have been fine paying $3 at the outset. But now that I know they are willing to change the price on someone after-the-fact, I'm not comfortable coming back. I gave two stars (instead of one) because the sewing quality was good.

We recently started a martial arts club, and that means all new uniforms. We brought Holly 4 black belt uniforms to have all of our patches sewn on prior to our Regional Championship. The price was very reasonable, and the uniforms came out amazing. They were ready a day before we were quoted. Our family is now ready to show off our new uniforms and will certainly use Sew Elegant for our uniform needs!
