Beautiful views. Some road noise. People are friendly. The amount of trash is another story. Everywhere, some people leave large bags. There is a trash dumpster to the left of the fire house that all could utilize. Most do not. 😢 If someone would like to get a group of people together I would help clean up. I pick up what I can. But it is overwhelming.

Ehh. Don't do it. Kinda sketchy. Roads are rough and tons and tons of people on a Wednesday. Some you can tell are living there and have turned their spot into their messy trashy home. We did leave our trailer to go to the national park but we made it quick because we didn't feel like it was safe to leave it for long. I would book an RV park or a hipcamp if you plan on being in the area for long. This isn't worth the free spot I promise. It was quiet at night. Definitely don't arrive after dark. Too hard to navigate for big trailers. 37ft here.

Super freaking beautiful. Some roads are very uh not so easy for bigger rigs lol please make sure you scope the area out before you treak it. At-least this isn't the first time scrapping my backend ;) stil, just as stressful as the first-time lol. I'll add photos later <3

Good place for dry camping near the freeway, nearest store is a 30 minutes walk. Same way in and out from the main road.

Questions & Answers

Why are campers so close to the CAP water project are they allowed to camp so close to resident homes? How can the BLM get dumpsters so trash is not left everywhere in the desert?

Is this currently open? And are you currently allowed to have a wood fire?

Signs say fires are allowed, there are rules about bringing firewood though (i think it has to be gathered from only dead trees, or purchased from somewhere nearby)

Can you ride quads out here in this area? Looking for camping and riding spots and this seems pretty open and lots of trails...scouted in truck once and hoping I can ride quads here and camp? Please help

You can ride quads pretty.much all over with permission. Have you tried the Arizona Peace Trail? Ask anyone in town about it. You'll definitely enjoy! ADDITIONAL INFO ADDED: Go to the police department and ask any questions you have. They're very nice! Or the Chamber of Commerce can help you with anything you'd like to know. I believe it's pretty lax, as everyone seems to have quads! 😉

Are we allowed to do target practice here?

Some do some don't, let's all respect the privilege of free BLM camping! Just so you know there are shooting ranges that also allow camping at them, you can also look into those.
