Beautiful hike. Me and some friends went up to Cucamonga Peak and it was an intense grueling hike 8+ hrs. It was worth it for the views above the clouds.

It was beautiful and not so difficult trail up to the saddle. We plan to hike in Ontario peak after this.

Beautiful and serene...you don't need to hike the entire mountain to enjoy the beauty of nature. Very tranquil with the sound of a running stream, although summiting is an amazing view, just get out on the trail and enjoy life at your own pace. For winter months (not required, but recommended) poles, gators, and crampons/traction spikes.

Beautiful, place to hike in spring summer and fall. When you see snow you must have the ice hiking equipment. Most important shoes.

Free parking along the road on mt baldy road, you will see other people parking there too, but to park at the Icehouse canyon parking lot it requires a adventure pass
Yes you do you can pick them up at a local store or A711 in the area they're only about $5 For the day and 35 for the year They're called the adventure pass and they're good for are the San Bernardino mountains And the San Gabriel mountains the Angeles forest t Frazier Park
The river is visible and accessible a dozen yards or so from the parking lot/trailhead.
Nice to hear that there's wildlife in the area. Thanks!
This is when 2 foot of snow falls in a short time span. You may void a warranty putting chains on.
Pets are not allowed to walk loose ... but I don't see that they follow this rule.
Plenty of parking in the afternoon, make sure you get an adventure pass for the day. It permits you to park your vehicle.
There most likely is and will be after the current storm. i haven't been up there in a few weeks but Mt. Baldy has gotten snow and that trail is protected from the sun so snow will collect and keep there for a good time. the trail does get muddy/icy because of this!
I guess you mean to Baldy Notch, if you hike there from Icehouse Canyon Trail, it's about 9 miles just one way, one of the shortest way is from Monk Flat Campingroun via San Antonio Waterfalls Trail, it's about 3 miles one way, it's a dirt trail, no shade at all, not a good trail. I highly recommend you take a hike to Icehouse Saddle from Icehouse Canyon Trail.
