Free parking along the road on mt baldy road, you will see other people parking there too, but to park at the Icehouse canyon parking lot it requires a adventure pass
Parking is not free. You have to buy a $5 Adventure Pass to park in the parking lot without getting a ticket. The lot fills up fast on weekends. Adventure passes can be purchased at the Baldy Visitor Center on the weekends (they're only open weekends). You can also buy the passes at a lot of stores in the area, just look for the Adventure Pass sign.
