April 2017 It was a long grueling process but I'm glad it's finally done and I'm approved and got keys to my new place. I'm so very thankful and appreciative. Homelessness is no joke and very depressing. I can breathe and live again and me and my 9 month old finally have a place to call our own. So thankful for wakeland for developing it and Saira, Jennifer and Nathaniel for all their hard work getting all these files processed. And I guess next week and throughout may 100 more units will be filled. Lol it's gonna get hectic as heck. Now there's only about 40 people, well 40 units occupied so it's quiet but when those next 100 units of probably average 100 to 300 people c come in haha no more calmness lol. But anyway very nice apartments. Color is earthy, light yellow walls and greenish brown tile flooring. NO carpet btw. And my kitchen is along side the wall but hey can't complain I have I FINALLY have a home. April 2019 Update we have new management as of January 2019 manager came in and February 2019 assistant manager came in. They're Meh. You hardly ever see the manager which is bad. Deliberately avoids you on elevators. She didn't take the first elevator with me which is closest to staff parking anyway she walks to the double elevators. Um ok. Hardly see her anyway at least with Maeisha we saw them alot I kinda miss the old management. These are more by the book which is not always a bad thing. Just doesn't feel connecting like meesh and Jennifer were. See I even called her meesh :( Lol. It is what it is. Dec 3rd 2019 Edit again to say I notice many residents have multiple cars and I notice many residents have brand new Mercedes Benz range rovers trucks. The family that owns the Mercedes Benz I seen have the children's father show up and guess what he owns a Mercedes Benz as well. Like what the heck?? I thought this was a affordable housing complex for the lower income people. Those people don't deserve to live here and my sister came up with a good answer as to why they have all that is because they lied to get in this place they make more money than they are reporting. And that makes since and is not right for those of us who desperately need a place to live. Now this new management is by the book and on stuff so I'm sure they have a way of finding out. Otherwise if those people with the brand new range rovers and Mercedes Benz really are low income than their spending ALL they money on they car. A oil change alone for a range Rover I found from someone who owns it they said cost them $400-600 I said SAYYYY WHATTT!? just for one oil change you got to be joking. So anyhow there's no way the residents here are low income with cars like that that require such high maintenance. Again if they are all they money is going to they nice cars. To show off but live poor. Anyway that's my update again as a resident here. Also residents smoke when management is gone and on weekends. They also park in management parking after hours and on weekends as well LMAO what a way to really take advantage. And some may not know that the assistant manager and 2 maintenance men live at atmosphere as well. But I guess since it's after hours and weekends they are residents just like us and don't enforce or I could be wrong maybe they do but that they can't complain to everyone and also it's their time off to enjoy themselves. Anyhow I still think it's great place to live despite those that don't belong here. There's still ALOT of really cool people. Some who've I grown best friends with. Will update again if needed lol.

I am blessed to have gotten this chance to live here. Beautiful apartments, new and improved management, cooking classes, movie night, patio and barbeque on 8th floor with views. The only thing I had a problem with was in getting a parking spot in the garage. It took me about 1 year hundreds of dolllars in parking tickets. I thought there was enough parking for every household!!

I moved In when they 1st started letting people move in , it's so upsetting that after a year the building is starting to look bad , people are given the opportunity to live in a nice place and are ruining it for all . Halls are dirty ,people drag their trash and leave trash all over , spill drinks and don't clean it up , be respectful you are given this wonderful opportunity , clean after yourself! **update 3/11/19 how could people be so dirty this is the place you live ,clean after yourself ,building is getting dirtier each day . So sad such a nice building is not been kept by own renters.

So I had heard about this very special project a number of years ago when it started out in a different direction. This wonderfully designed development was originally going to be another (higher-end) condo project on the edge of Bankers Hill and Downtown. And I am not sure who the leader was on the effort to turn this project around and use it to help meet some of the affordable-housing-needs of many families here in San Diego. I know the project took great effort in order to secure the monies needed for it to open its doors just last month. Bravo WakeLand Corporation for sticking to your final outcome and goal no matter what the obstacles might have been that may have come your way. There is a wonderful expression -- I think that says my thought here best ...."Community before Self" ...! I had the opportunity to tour this community on Friday and was very impressed with all all of the special elements that make this project special. I know that FPI Management is working hard to ingratiate their residents to the community and building. Thanks to the San Diego Housing Commission as well for seemingly always saying "YES" to funding sometimes before the question is asked. You guys do wonderful work and are helping to make this great city livable and enjoyable. Congrats to anyone that had their special hand in making Atmosphere a reality! Job well done. New Management (ConAm) took over contract from FPI - let’s hope a more appropriate and meaningful operations overview gets implemented! I met new staff (Manager and business manager) both seem nice and capable of helping a community in need of good and healthy oversight!

How much does it cost to reserve the 8th floor

Well if you are a resident , there is no cost. You come on a first come first serve basis. As for the general public, I dont think they have that service. Hopefully you know know someone here, the view is breathtaking and the patio has 2 bbq's. Lounge chairs and tables throughout and plexi-glass around the perimeter to allow the view of the city.

Why WONT they let you see apartment BEFORE you sign lease?!

Yes, they said I could have 1 parking space, but I have been in a house for 25 years. I had one bedroom that was made into a closet because I have so many clothes and shoes! How you store sheets and towels?🤔 I'm really nervous about THAT!

Is the 24 hour security guards always at front desk monitoring who can come in the building? Are kids allowed to roam around without always having adult supervision?

Talon Dupuis | Aug 19, 2018
baby pink | Aug 19, 2019

No it’s staff from around 7am till 6pm and than security guard takes over for the non work hours when employees go home and even than they aren’t at the desk whole time they do their rounds in building and garage ...And I see kids roaming around all the time. They even sit in front of my door with their friend that lives across from me just hanging out. Why they choose the hallway to hang out when they have the roof or patio is beyond me. As long as they aren’t too noisy and bay bay kids than it’s all good.

Is there gonna be any type of central air put in soon

Daunte Terry | Aug 19, 2019
Brandalynn Victoria Bruns-Gilbreaith | Aug 19, 2019

I really dought it . if they were going to have central air they would have put it in when they built the place. Only lobby has ac tenents have only ceiling fans or what ever they have. But not sure you can buy your own portable ac.

Do the 3 bedrooms have 2 bathrooms and how big is the 3 bedrooms also does the 3 bedrooms come with a patio

Daunte Terry | Aug 19, 2019
baby pink | Aug 19, 2019

When we first moved in they said every apartment has a balcony I only recently found out that isn't true. As I saw a 3 bedroom without one and it's the ones facing 4th Ave. On the inside. I also had the pleasure of seeing another 3 bedroom and I'm amazed at the different floor plan. They are not the same layout and not the same size. So I hope they aren't the same price which I believe they are as I spoke with the higher management. Which is ridiculous. The whole rent here is ridiculous im paying more for a one bedroom than some that are two bedrooms see how that works smh. To fully answer it is spacious. Don't know the measurements but I wouldn't be dissapointed if I was in it.

I applied for an Apt back in June of 2016 , I wasn't chosen in the lottery, so I was put on the waiting list for a 1 bedroom. For 605.00 / mo. The guy I spoke to named "John" gave me this info, said my wait would be a year.2018 nw, whts My status?

Celia Dmngz-Barbosa | Aug 19, 2018
baby pink | Aug 19, 2019

It's whene'er it's available. Whenever people move out. I'm in a one bedroom and am patiently waiting to be transfered. Then my one bedroom would open up. Just depend where you are on the list. And lucky you that you were offered 605 cuz I pay 919. So that a big difference.

Is there enough parking for all residents who live at the Atmosphete Apts? If so is there parking for a visitor of the residents?
