This place is a nightmare to apply. The onsite property manager asked for bizarre & intrusive income documentation that don't follow HUD, State & City regulations or guidelines. And this was AFTER she said I had the apartment. The application process took over a month. And, she attempted to keep my holding deposit. I'm happy to resume my housing search after this awful experience.

It's a shame that your review rate is only 2⭐-2.5⭐ but I can understand. Most of these are a few years back. When I first moved in I was not iimpresed. Main thing was the roaches in apt and hallways. First thought that came to mind was Joe's Apt😄 But seriously 5hey took care of that(not a one now) Crime, drugs, homeless is everywhere. Zombie land soo☠️💀

It's always said that property is based on location,, location, location and they're right. This is located very near everything... transportation (bus, bike, trollley, taxis, Uber, Lyft, pedi-cabs, etc. Then there is Petco Park, the venue on the corner of Park & Market (which is soon to disappear 🙁), all the clubs, main library, markets, restaurants, convention center, Seaport Village and Gaslamp District. The building itself isn't an Architectutal Digest Award winner but for me it's good. I liked it a lot the first time I saw it. There's a laundry room on each floor, TV room, Wi-Fi (very limited range) in the seating area, and a gourmet kitchen that is available to residents. Of course I would love it if drinking, doing drugs and the such weren't so prevalent around the building but otherwise they keep it pretty clean. Management is friendly and so far responsive, maintenance crew as well and most guards have a great personality. So far, so good. Update 3/22/18: I lived at Island Village from 3/10/17 thru 2/28/18 and while much of what I wrote above is still true, there's more. Building 1 where I lived has a serious roach problem. I decided after 2 months of the ineffective extermination company they use, Cimex, to take matters into my own hands. I managed to keep them at bay except for the occasional ones that would come in under my door from the hallway but they wouldn't live for long.
