Gigi, the Case Manager is the most incompetent person I have ever dealt with. It took us over 2 weeks to get my family member released. The nurses, CNA, and therapists were great. If you don’t have to work with Gigi I would recommend this place; otherwise NO!!!

The room and grounds were very nice. My mom had a lovely view of the gazebo area. She really enjoyed the view. Our initial experience with staff went very well. However, the last half not so much. The staff seemed to get weary of helping her out of bed to use the bathroom. At times she was encouraged to just go in her diaper or they used the wheelchair instead of the Walker. One aid even told her she was too large to help. That is a damaging comment and is not acceptable. She is large, however she didn’t require a lot of lifting, more of a spotter in case she started to fall. Several times the aids commented that she didn’t need much help. She was in your facility to regain stability and strength after a stroke and these options were not helpful. She also had times where after waiting 30 minutes after pressing her light she had to have my sister call from the outside to send someone to her room. These issues were disappointing, after it started so well.

The Pavilion at Sunny Hills was absolutely AMAZING!!! Our Family couldn’t be more Satisfied with the Service my Mother received. Carlos in Administration was wonderful! He went the Extra Mile to assist me with placing my Mother in the facility. My Mother was so impressed with the Nursing Staff. They took excellent care of her. The Pavilion took such great care of my mother that she was able to go home one week earlier than expected. Thanks to The Pavilion, my Mother is back at home and on the road to a full recovery🙏 Thank you to The Amazing Pavilion at SunnyHills The Davis Family

Great OT and PT Team. As Healthcare providers, we really saw mom improve after her hip surgery. Some nursing staff were great, some of the nursing team were less conscientious and had to be reminded multiple times by my wife and I and our paid separate caregiver to give medications that were not being given when they were scheduled. We appreciated Dr. Imperative listening to our concerns and following through in adjusting her medications back to pre hospital levels that worked well for mom's special needs that allowed her to have physical therapy nearly every day. Mom loved the food, spacious private rooms for all their short term stay clients, and funny and helpful medical aids that kept her in good spirits. She particularly liked Neti. Overall, I recommend The Pavilion in Sunny Hills Fullerton because of their OT and PT staff and their ability of their overall team to adjust to mom's special needs.

Yes they offer long term nursing care
So far my experience in there is been great, DON is a good team leader, DSD has a great relationship with the CNAS. They are giving 1000 dollars for CNA referral and 1000 for the person that referred them.
I think you hit it on the nail with your question. Response time to the call button can be challenging in skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, or any type of care facility. At The Pavilion at Sunny Hills, we monitor the "call lights", as we like to call them, very closely. We have also developed a system that we like to compare to an airport traffic controller, whose job is to control the flow of incoming and outgoing airplanes. Can you imagine what an airport would be like if the pilots on each plane were deciding when to take off and land with no air traffic controller? Disaster! Similarly, we feel it necessary to have designated people each day who help monitor the call lights and coordinate the repsonse to call lights as efficiently as possible. We call them our "Call Light Traffic Controllers". We see a huge difference in the response times when we have our "Call Light Traffic Controllers" coordinating our team's response to each call light!

That is a great question. This topic has become a huge area of focus for Medicare. Beginning October 1st of this year, Medicare is penalizing/rewarding skilled nursing facilities based on their previous year's re-admission rate. A "re-admission" is defined as any patient who was admitted to the acute hospital and once discharged, returns to the acute hospital within 30 days. At Sunny Hills, we believe that this is such an important measure of quality, as our goal for each patient we care for is to return home from our facility, and not to return to the acute hospital. We are proud to be in the #1 tier of facilities with the lowest re-admission rates in the country for the last year. If you'd like more details on this important quality measure, please feel free to call or stop in and talk to us some more.
We always recommend families and patients to look around at multiple rehabilitation facilities so they can see the differences between each facility. When visiting each faciity, here are a few key questions to ask yourself 1) Are the staff friendly and attentive? 2) Is the facility clean? 3) Can my loved one come here and get the rest he/she needs to recover? In other words, is it noisy and crowded, or is the environment peaceful and organized? 4) What do people with experience at the facility say about it? Talk to patients/families, and look at online reviews of real people who have real experiences. 5) Is the leadership stable? Specifically, how long have the Adminstrator and Director of Nursing been at the facility? Stable leadership often leads to better teamwork amongst staff, less turnover of staff, and a defined mission/vision of the facility. 6) Does the facility have individual showers in each room, or do patients shower in a community shower room?
