I should have applied there for sure. They know there business. Bless Trivas and Melody. Thanks for there custom service. Thomas

Waited in a 30 car line for over an hour before the line started to move. Hot day very miserable day.

This place ROCKS!!! Unless you are dumping rocks. Remember that SWTE Plant is weight based, not volume.
Ducci
Base rate of $17 for the minimum dump fee. Huge amount ls of room, hours are great here! I enjoy the customer service that the employees give out here as well! 🚚 #Spokane

They will accept roofing materials in any quantity that you want to bring them, just keep in mind that the cost is by weight, it's about $117 per ton you drop off.
Yes it is! It's open until 5 today.
Yes
Sod is an acceptable item in Clean Green if it is less than 3 inches thick and most of the soil has been knocked off. Hope that helps!
In the yard waste 3 inch diameter not longer than 6 feet long
Yes up to 4 days at regular garbage rates more than that you'll have to pay tire rates
You can take any tv working or not working to the goodwill outlet for free. They do electronic recycling.
They don't recyle the paint but they have a drop off for it. Honestly if it's water soluble latex. Throw it in the trash.
No
The Waste to Energy facility is closed for public drop off on major holiday.
Yep
It usually is closed on holidays; the website will have that information posted.
Yes
yes they are
Yes, the recycle area takes them. Talk with one of the people working in that area and they will direct you where to put them.
about 300 lbs
6.00 to 18.00
Hi Don, The other answers were correct. We will take tanning beds as trash at the WTE facility.
Sorry for the inconvenience. One of our scales went down over the weekend and until we get it repaired there will be longer than usual wait times. We also close the floor at 10 am and 2 pm every day to clean the floor so there is room to continue dumping. If you were here at one of those times, that could also have been the reason for the delay.
Hi Autumn, I hope you were able to dump your tiles. Dustin and Mark were correct in that we do take them as regular garbage.
We are in our residential drop off area. We do ask that the materials be sorted though, but there are signs to help direct you as well as staff if you have questions.
It is sir it is -
We opened last week for residential recycling and HHW drop off. Hours and services are now back to normal, though we still caution people to maintain social distancing while at the facility.
Rates for appliances like refrigerators are the same as regular trash--minimum of $18.08 for the first 300 lbs., and then after that prorated based on $110.65 per ton.
Not at this time that we know about. Some of the City of Spokane's neighborhood councils provide dump passes for residents, but you would need to be a city resident and contact 311 to see if those apply to where you live. I hope that helps!
Yard waste is a minimum of $5.77 for the first 200 pounds and prorated at $54.23 a ton after that. Branches must be less than 6 feet long and 3 inches in diameter.
We do not offer that service at Waste to Energy. If you live in the City of Spokane, call 311 and ask if there is assistance available. There may be community groups that can help you.
We prefer not to as they would end up as garbage. The best place to take them is to a Goodwill store, Best Buy, or any other participant in the Ecycle Washington Program. Materials dropped off at those are responsibly recycled.
I think the free branch dumping ended October 19th
Yes, it would be disposed of as garbage. We are experiencing long lines now through this Saturday, so you may want to wait to bring it out or just be prepared.
We do accept roofing shingles as regular garbage from residents. Contractors can use the Graham Road landfill for C&D waste disposal.
We accept all cards except American Express at Waste to Energy and do not charge a fee for using one.
Our disposal fees are $17.57 for up to 340 pounds and pro rated after that based on $107.53 per ton. Yard waste fees are $5.77 for the first 200 pounds and $54.23 per ton.
Hi Kevin, To get the reduced rate for "Clean Green" the branches and limbs would need to be less than 6 feet long and 3 inches diameter or less. Anything longer or larger than that could still be disposed of under the garbage rate. You can call 509-625-6580 if you need more clarification on that.
Yes, yard waste rates.
As Ron said, you can throw away a flat screen TV as trash, but a better way of disposing it is through the E-cycle Washington program that takes them for FREE and recycles them. Goodwill stores participate in the program so they can be dropped off there or a number of other locations. Check out the program at ecyclewashington.org.
Yes, we do take plywood. It would go as regular garbage.
As many as you want to pay to get rid of normal garbage rates
Yes they will take it on the floor with the gas and oil for 17$ minim or if you take the gas and oil out for free in the recycling center
Yes only closed major holidays
15 gall9ns, 5 gallon container or smaller.
No appointment necessary and you would pay the minimum fee of $17.57 to go over the scales.
Hi Christina, sorry about the mixed messages. We do not take shredded paper for recycling at the waste to energy facility. It can go into your green yard waste bin if you have one, or the Sunshine Disposal transfer station at University takes shredded paper in their recycling area. There is no charge and no limit to the amount. Another option is to take it to Northwest Seed and Pet. They use shredded paper for animal bedding, though you might want to check with them first on the amount they will take. Hope that helps!
Hi Patti, We do offer a secure burn service at Waste to Energy. You can call 509-625-6580 for more information and to make an appointment.
Hi James, No, the City of Spokane Valley sends their garbage to a regional landfill in Wenatchee. They have done that since 2014.
Hi Bill, Like Trever said, they can be disposed of as trash. If you remove the glass from the frames, you can droop off the aluminum in the non ferrous metals container in the recycling area. That might lighten your load.
It has to be drained of oil first. You can recycle oil there up to 5 gallons in a sealed container per visit. The old tank should be cut in half and put in the appropriate metal recycle bin. All of that is FREE.
Yes just tell the person at the door they'll send you to the non burnable area
It's open Veterans day but closed on Labor day.
Even though yard waste material can be up to 6 feet in length, the lid of the green bin should still be able to close (if you can). Hope that helps!
There is no limit on paint disposal for residents, but there are a few things to keep in mind. If you are bringing leftover oil-based paint, stain or stripper they should be dropped off at the household hazardous waste area at no charge. If you have leftover latex paint, that goes as garbage. We prefer that it is dried first or at least let the tipping floor staff know you have paint as it makes a mess when it spills. And, if you have a lot of extra paint, you might save that tipping fee by taking it to a place like Habitat for Humanity that might take it from you for free and put it to good use. Call 625-6580 if you have other questions.
Yes, we do. Regular garbage fees apply.
I believe we have destroyed retired American flags from groups such as yours in the past. Please call our office at 509-625-6580 to get more details. We look forward to talking with you!
Open today
You can bring sheet rock to us from home remodeling projects to dispose of as garbage. Staff will ask you to place it in a separate pile from material going in to the incinerator, though, as we do not like to burn it.
No 15 gallons per day in 5 gallon or less container
You can also drop off used motor oil at the Household Hazardous Waste area of any transfer station for no charge.
We do take cardboard in our recycling drop off area at the Waste to Energy Facility. Signage and staff will direct you where to leave it. We are open today until 5 and then from 7:30 am to 5 pm tomorrow and Sunday. We are closed on Monday for the holiday.
Hi Colby, Yes, if it is from your home vehicle and not more than 15 gallons at once in 5 gallon containers. Drop off is in the household hazardous waste area of our recycling center.
Actually that is 4 tires in a residential load and oversized tires must be cut up into smaller pieces.
Yes, you can. You can bring organic material to us for composting in plastic bags, but you would need to empty them when you get to the disposal area. And, it is only $5.61 for the first 220 pounds so much cheaper than the garbage rate!
Yes as trash
You can bring it to us for disposal, but you would have to pay the garbage rate and sand is heavy! Any way you can use it in another part of your yard? Maybe a friend could use it in theirs?
Hi Angel, TVs can be dropped off at any Goodwill store, for free, to be recycled through the state's electronic recycling program. If you cannot find anyone else who wants your couch, you can bring it to the Waste to Energy plant for disposal, but it will cost. The minimum fee is $17.07 for up to 340 pounds.
As long as the cans are empty, they can go into the trash. Never put them in recycling, though. If there is still gas, or any automotive fuel, left in a container, you can drop it off at the Household Hazardous Waste area for no charge. Thanks for your question!
Sorry we didn't see this earlier, Scott. As you probably found out, we were closed on the 4th. Our regular hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day except for Christmas, New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.
Hi, Our disposal fee for organics is $5.61 for the first 220 pounds, then pro-rated based on $52.70 per ton. Branches just have to be less than 6 feet long and smaller than 3 inches in diameter. Hope that answers your question!
Yes. Just not dedicated loads of tires. A few here and there are fine.
Yes you can
