Great shelter. Very nice staff. I love how they care for all cats at their center. Cats are so friendly.

Lots of cats available- more than are on the website. You can go into the rooms and interact with them freely.

Staff very friendly and you can tell they love and take great care of all cats. They allow you bond with your cat to make sure it is a good fit for everyone....kitty and new parents.

This is a no-kill cat shelter and I appreciate all the effort and care the staff and volunteers take with the animals. My husband and I have visited often over the past seven years to see the kitties and we know that they are well taken care of. It is a clean and comfortable place for cats of all ages.

Yes ,kittens $25 up to 1yo,after that in varies $100-$500 depending on age, medical issues etc.....
The shelter will spay and. Neuter a guy came out too my house and trapped 7 ferrel cats and fixed them, then they release them back where they caught them. I'm overlooking a canyon.
I agree: there is always a need for volunteers. But, it's best to call Friends of Cats, for specific information.
You can volunteer with a parent or guardian. You need to be 14 to visit on your own.
You can definitely call them and ask :) they are really nice and don't judge. They can give you all the info you need! If it came to it, I would surrender my cat here. They're no kill and so kind. Good luck and please follow up with them!
Yes no worries have 4 older kittens need homes, sweet and healthy.
They take donations. Call if you have questions. I think they open at 10am
There is also a ferel cat coalition in San Diego but you will have to Google it for contact information.
Yes, it's necessary to call Friends of Cats to answer that kind of question. Just for info: they are closed on Mondays.
If they have spares. It's $60 cash deposit and you get $50 back when you return the trap. Keep the trap as long as you need.
I am sorry to say that I have no idea if Friends of Cats is hiring. For that information, it would be necessary to contact them, directly. I wrote my review only as a visitor, there.
They have some days with special rates. And some times have some many cats that they waive it.
You can also call the Feral Cat Coalition. It does spays and neuters (TNR) for feral cats, will vaccinate them, and, at its weekly clinic, can provide some limited medical care if needed. An appointment is needed.
Yes you can, they are a no kill shelter.
Thay can test for FIV and FELV but thay do not "fix" the cats ,thear VET handles the SPAY and NEUTER OF the cats. Go ahead and go in no need to call or to get an appointment.
To Randall Moore. I worked as a volunteer. They have about 600 cats who are permanent residents. They sometimes took on ill cats but fees were higher than $500. They may accept her because of her age and her medical problem out of sympathy & since you say treatment is priced low. My guess is about $1000. Calling often means refusal. Helen Woodward is also known nationwide and might do it. "Renal failure" is one of the most common ways our cats pass. I get very emotional when I read a story such as yours. After 21 yrs.she deserves to pass with dignity. She probably has < than one year to live. Did your vet.give you an estimated remaining life span? If the diagnosis isn't good, euthanasia is an alternative. You can always have her remains put in a beautiful little wooden box with her name written on it so she'll be with you where ever you go. A few people/cat boarding places do this for a fee. Check the internet.Make sure they're licensed legit."A friend for life."
Yes. You can come spend as much time as you like. Hours are 10-4 Tuesday through Sunday. Just closed on Monday.
They currently have about 600 permanent residents. The sometimes take kittens for $100 and adult cats for up to $500. This is for others who might have the same passing thought.
10-4 New years eve, closed new years day.
I think there is an adoption fee, but you should call and call the county animal shelter, a couple of times a year they have free adoption weekends. I would call and ask when the next one is.
No kill non profit organization.
