To Randall Moore. I worked as a volunteer. They have about 600 cats who are permanent residents. They sometimes took on ill cats but fees were higher than $500. They may accept her because of her age and her medical problem out of sympathy & since you say treatment is priced low. My guess is about $1000. Calling often means refusal. Helen Woodward is also known nationwide and might do it. "Renal failure" is one of the most common ways our cats pass. I get very emotional when I read a story such as yours. After 21 yrs.she deserves to pass with dignity. She probably has < than one year to live. Did your vet.give you an estimated remaining life span? If the diagnosis isn't good, euthanasia is an alternative. You can always have her remains put in a beautiful little wooden box with her name written on it so she'll be with you where ever you go. A few people/cat boarding places do this for a fee. Check the internet.Make sure they're licensed legit."A friend for life."
