Definitely worth a trip to this state park. Don't have much experience with the drive in campground other than a quick walk through but highly recommended the hike in locations. River Sandhole is right on the trail so if you want to have privacy then I would go with either Old Ranch or River Meadow. For the hammockers reading this, both those two also have good trees for a 12' hammock or 2.

It seems as tho the whole park and trails are along the lake. It was great, just what I was looking for. Cant wait to go back. And clean, cleaner than my house, lol

It's a nice park....love when they have Candlelight ski events and the ski trails are nice and level.

We spent three nights at the Lakeside campground and it was very packed and loud our first night. There is no privacy. Once the weekenders left it became much more enjoyable. We did some hiking but not as much as we would have liked, be careful the ticks are really bad.

Not every year, call to find out!
No, but it is open with a bike shop, bait shop, and mini golf. Unsure about hours it's open, though.
We did not swim, but the beach area is very nice!
Its included in your park fee, so if you have an annual pass to MN state parks, free!
