My family camped here over the weekend for the first time and it was pretty nice! We were in the upper campground and it very spacious. We rented 3 sites. We went and checked out the lower campground. It was very crowded over there but you had access to the lake right there. Fishing was good on this lake too. Our only complaints about the park was the beach is a bit small and the boat trailer parking was a bit crowded. Some of the campers use it for overnight parking. So there is limited parking for boat trailers. Staff there were also pleasant and friendly. We will definitely return to this state park.

Great hiking trails. The hiking club loop is very runable too. We enjoyed a picnic by the lake too.
Traveling Experience
Nice state park, very clean restroom ( no smell), friendly staff, clean water for lake beach swimming, nice hiking trails etc.

Pretty small for a state park but very pretty and Lake Carlos is a gorgeous lake with very clear water and lots of interesting seaweed. Definitly reccomend a swimming or boat day on the lake. The beach also is a great place to collect rocks if you're into that, the rocks are very unique. Cute little gift shop with stickers, hoodies etc. Would love to camp here someday!!

I rented a canoe when I was there last at the State Park
What can i help you with?
As of today, still plenty of ice. But calling the state park is a good idea, they should be able to provide you even more up-to-date information than the DNR website that too is a good place to look
This is a good place for fishing. I would suggest to go fishing to center of the lake.
Check the DNR website. If camping it usually fills up a year in advance.
Yes there is. Also walking trails around the lake and the camprground is very nice with an access right at the campground for boat use if you choose. Very laid back quiet place every time ive been there.
Yes.. must be on a leash. Can't leave them in the camper unattended.
