Truly disappointing, I would give it no stars if I had a chance. My family and I just moved and were in search of a dog. We found a beautiful younger wired haired terrier in need of a home and immediately jumped on. After contacting Paws we were told that the dog was still available and we can come check him out. Today my parents went to go look at him in the morning. HE WAS THE BEST!!! We immediately fell in love with him more than we loved him in pictures. He was very energetic and super smart. We were told that the dog would be ours and the other applications would be thrown away. This evening we get an email that the dog needs to put under behavioral training and they were no longer interested in looking for a new home for him. This is seriously so screwed up, why would bother to play with our emotions. They knew that we were ready for the challenge, WE KNEW WHAT WE WERE GETTING OURSELVES INTO. We knew he needed training because his is still a young dog. We even said we would pay for professional training but they said no. We just don't get why they don't want a loving sweet family to expand. Let me know if this has happened to you!

Paws is the best! I found a sweet, senior dog over by the landing with no collar. I was able to drop the dog off on a Sunday morning and within an hour I had a voicemail from Paws saying they located the owner through the chip in the dog and they were on their way. great work!

Beautiful animals. Caring volunteers. I volunteer when I have the time and I adopted my cat from here. Hes such a sweet baby. Plenty of loving dogs and cats that need a home. Stop by and find your companion!!

Small but nice facility. They care very much for the animals others abandon on the island and do their best to ensure each adoption is right for the dog or cat and the family. Our pup is turning into a wonder member of the family.

It all depends on where you are located. The majority of shelters are jurisdictional and will only help with animals within the areas they serve. You need to call the animal control department that serves your area.
