Steep ramp to the bottom, otherwise generally clean and quiet fishing dock

Getting down to the dock wasn't wonderful they need to make it easier to get down to

I love this dock for year-round catch and release sturgeon fishing and smallmouth bass fishing in the summer. There are a couple of "watch outs" at this location: 1) Be aware that the dock is 30 feet below the ledge of the cliff. This means you'll be traversing a steep aluminum ladder down to the dock. The ladder is professionally made and is safe, but requires two hands free to navigate the safest way possible. 2) When sturgeon fishing bring a LOT of weights. 4-10 ounces of weight can be required to hold your bait to the bottom. The river bottom ranges from 20-120 feet deep and is full of snaggy material. Tying up breakaway weight rigs is the best way to land sturgeon here. The State Police patrol this dock frequently so don't forget your license. Also, remember that all sturgeon over 54" may NOT be removed from the water. You'll get a ticket. I've seen this happen on more than one occasion. Otherwise, Tight Lines!
