I’ve always enjoyed having Providore in the neighborhood and overall it’s a great place to shop for foodies. Lots of unique interesting items, always new things to check out. Seafood and cheese counter folks are nice and helpful. However lately I’ve noticed some strange and disappointing things so I’m lowering my rating by 1 star. For example, incorrectly priced items that end up being far higher at checkout. Consistently poor quality of stone fruits (eg mealy or go bad quickly). Avocados are either too hard or old and likely brown on the inside. Significant increases in prices that seem disproportionate to inflation. And something that’s always bugged me is that the morel mushrooms are priced by the ounce rather than pound like the rest. That seems deceptive to me. Update: Thank you for your response to my review. I appreciate you sharing the details of the constraints and challenges you are experiencing and the impact on the customer experience. I'm fine with bumping my rating up to a 4 primarily due to the produce issues which have been ongoing for a few months.

only nit is that in terms of the grocery dept there is WILD inconsistency of what they have. in particular the snacks and sweets. found a good cookie (or what have you) brand you like ? enjoy it while you can because they never seem to re-order things and you will probably never see it there again. just a non-stop variation of things. which isnt great if you find something you would like to continue to keep buying.

I am visiting Portland and my son took me here. The place is amazing the selection of cheese, dried meats, fresh produce, and wines were outstanding. Service was excellent and prices are reasonable. Kudos the young wan who sliced our prosciutto paper thin without tearing it

I wish I could do all my shopping here! Such beautiful food. Tip: start at one case being deli or cheese and move on down the counter - your person can do it all, even make you cappuccino for the way out. Such delightful staff.

They have some tables outside
They limit the number of people in the store, require masks, and require that you sanitize your hands as you enter.
Define "homemade". Do you mean in-house? They don't have that, either. Go to the once-a-month sale at Classic Foods for that.
I don't remember seeing any.
They have sweet Italian and spicy. Both in links and as ground
I dont remember
Yes but its limited if you are serving more than 4 people i would call the day before to insure there will be enough on hand
Yes, they do...and I'd bet if you're seeking something specific, they'll make arrangements to get it for you
