Excellent little grocery store that was missing from the SE Division neighborhood. The selection is smaller but smart, I can get most of my groceries here and pricing is good. The vegan options are especially nice and they have a very large selection of beer, a lot more European and sour styles than many other stores. I do wish there was a bit more space dedicated to produce (fresh and frozen) but I think it's the nature of the scale of the store.

We came here the day they opened and I gotta say I was impressed. They let me bring in my pup that day and she got so many loves and pets. The selection of wine and beer is pretty impressive. They have everything I usually eat (GF/V) and then some which is really helpful with variety. My husband and I plan to make this a home store for us since trying to find foods to my liking at Fred Meyers and Natural Grocers can sometimes be difficult. My husband doesn't have my same diet but there were foods and drinks in there he is wanting to try. We look forward to returning 💖 EDIT* This is my husband's and I favorite spot. It's come down to being there every other Friday 😂. I mean their beer selection helps (husband likes beer) but I notice that it looks as if the beer selection gets changed out often. Right now you have a white pale ale that's GF and has a unicorn on it that's pretty tasty. My son likes coming here too!

I believe Green Zebra will be a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. They passed my two basic tests to qualify as a good specialty grocery - do they carry Have'A Corn Chips and do they carry Beaver brand mustards? Yes and yes - if you're not familiar with these brands, I think you may be happy checking them out. Green Zebra makes the most of limited space - refrigerated, freezer, deli counter and checkout areas make up most of the perimeter, aisles fill in the center, and they even have a small amount of parking (maybe 8 spaces?) in the garage behind the store. One unfortunate, though clearly necessary layout issue is that the bottom half of the huge expanse of windows on the east side of the building are frosted, because full-height refrigerator cases for beer and produce take up that wall. Sacrificing light and a view is an acceptable price to pay for what Green Zebra brings to this corner - easy access to all kinds of ingredients and prepared items that have never been available at the convenience store diagonally across the intersection. The answer to where to go to find half and half no longer involves Powell or Hawthorne
