For the license transfer, you will need the license, your social security card and your US birth certificate/passport or your green card/work authorization. For the registration, you will need 6 pts of acceptable ID in your name and also NYS auto insurance and the title to the vehicle.
you only need the license and the title of the car, then you go to the dmv and you make the license change and you register the car.
