If a package shows up at a hub at 1230pm on a Friday and it's only 3 hours from it's destination, why don't they put it on another truck to move it closer, if the hub doesn't close till 7pm why does it just sit for 6 hours?

Parcels received must be scanned in before they can be placed in the proper package car for delivery. It all depends on the type of service used for shipment. It's not a perfect system. However, they do the best they can. Hang in there, your packages will arrive on time.

Once the package arrives it must be sorted through the building. If the truck that the package is loaded onto is not finished before the current shift is complete it will sit until the next shift finishes the truck. Once the truck leaves and makes it to the destination it gets sorted again and if the delivery truck has already left it may sit until the next day.

You are aware that there are over 25 miles of conveyors and over 250k pacakges in that building at any given time. Of course its gonna take a while

It has to go thru the system before it gets to that building besides you package is not the only one that come thru there. There is tons of packages that comes thru there each shift. They are doing there best to get it to you on time.
