Just returned from the Caverns and I'm 8 months pregnant. My pregnancy has been uneventful (i.e. no complications, swelling, pain, etc.) And the only part i felt winded by was climbing back up the staircase at the end of the tour. It is wet, so take care to wear shoes that grip decently. I would not recommend flip flops. When you get to areas of the cave where the terrain goes up or down, there are thick railings on both sides of the walkway to use. I went with my husband and did not find i needed him to assist me. Theres definitely only 1 area to sit down, but you only stop there a moment or two. The walk through the caves is a mile, takes about an hour with the tour guide giving information. You do stop maybe a dozen times to recieve an explanation of what you're looking at, so it's not as if you're rushing through. Since the walkway is narrow and the overhead can be low at times, just be mindful. It's also about 56-58*F in the cave so keep that in mind.
Of course, but only if you're capable enough to walk for about a mile inside the caves and you'll have to spend at least for 45 mins to one hour by standing.
It is safe for pregnant women but care to be taken. No need to hurry while walking in the caves. You can go at your pace but be with the group.
If she's in good shape and not to far along. It's quite a strenuous hike with few places to rest
If you go, wear comfortable shoes with good grip. The walk is about a mile. Some areas of the walkway can be a little wet. You should be fine as long as you watch your step.
My seven month pregnant wife had no issues. If you can walk a mile you can do this. As far as slippery surfaces, if you walk outside when it's raining, you have already done something more difficult.
No your balance is very important while walking around in the mountain
No , not recommended for a pregnant woman.
When we went there lots of pregnant womens were there. But initially when you enter there will be staircases and little bit dark as it is under te cave. So you have to take precautions otherwise it's okay.
When I went there was a pregnant woman and she had a hard time with the trails in places and breathing.... there was also a woman there who was 65 with a walker she came when she was young, reliving her youth, it was difficult for her as well but she did it.
