Ryan Vaughn has it right. I was there this last week and drove the sun road 4 times, about 2 hours each way depending on traffic and weather conditions. There are other roads at well. I did not drive all of them.
Going to the Sun road is approximately 60 miles. There are roads going in to other parts of the park as well - Glacier Rte 3 goes from Babb, MT into Swiftcurrent Lake and is about 12 miles, very rough road but very scenic, I did see a couple folks on motorcycles traversing it very carefully. From St. Mary down to the Cut Bank area is 8 or 9 miles on MT-89. These are the only areas I traveled to so I can't comment on anything else. But Going to the Sun is probably the most beautiful 60 miles you'll ever drive through the heart of the park.
We went through from west gate to St. Mary lake on our bike last year in mid July. Made minimal stops and it was a couple hours. Be prepared for the morning chill of Montana and then if the weather is right it warms up quite a bit. Save riding!
If the question is whether or not the roads are appropriate for a spyder or motorbike, they are. At least the going to the sun road.
Hello everybody
The entire Going to the Sun road is now open.
Until the full length of the Going-to-the-Sun Road opens some lower sections are open to hikers and bikers, but not vehicles. This special time of the year allows visitors to enjoy sections of the road at a slower pace, without the hazzard of cars passing
