Hello! Me and family came out here yesterday from Oregon hoping for some cleaner air. I planned to take them to see the reserve but it's an hour from us still and I'm nervous the smoke will obscure our chance to see the wildlife. Any advice?

Still fishing 🎣 and hiking last few days and the air quality is basically as if at a camp fire 🔥

The air is undoubtedly better here than Oregon. If you're hoping to see some birds, my advice is to just go for a drive along the river. Most of the raptors I see are sitting on fences and power poles. Hit up CJ Strike Reservoir to include waterfowl. The Owyhee Backcountry Byway is also a good option for a variety of wildlife. Succor Creek State Park and Leslie Gulch may also offer opportunities for birds, antelope, bighorn sheep, deer, and raptors.
