Fantastic place for an outing whether you like to swim in the river, do some hiking or biking!

We hiked the canyon trail. A hiker we met said that the trail has over 2700 steps one way. It's a out and-back trail You will definitely feel them. We didn't make the entire length. Someone created a cairn in the shape of a heart, so I had to take a picture.

I love this trail because it's a great place to get the dogs out to. Grant it, you've got some overly zealous cyclists that might pass you by, or the occasional Karen telling you that your dog needs to be on a leash, but other than that, great spot.

This is roughly a 4,000 acre conservation preserve, that has a goal of preserving native habitat and animal and bird species. There are really no facilities other than clean public restrooms, a rustic stone office, and a pavilion with a fireplace, as well as a parking lot. Barton Creek runs through this ranch, and it's quite beautiful. There are many oaks and other hardwoods, as well as cedar trees. Our visit was very enjoyable, and the Administrator, Brandon, was very knowledgeable and helpful. Definitely worth a visit, and it's close in to South Austin.

They preserve all sorts of things. I like the lizard preserves best. It's great on water crackers...
Leashes are required
I don't think they allow biking
I am not sure if there is a park fee. But search the internet, you will have everything you need to know.
Actually, South Austin. Just Google it, you'll get led right to it.
Very few fish unless some washef out of ponds in the recent rains...but it could happen. Be sure you have a fishing license.
