I don't know about grinders but the cheese cake is amazing and so was everything else I ate there

Love Vernon Diner. Ate breakfast / lunch there Christmas day. Great service and am always surprise by the amount of food on the plate. The cheesecake is the best. Their clam chowder is the best I've had.
The Grinders are very good, but you have to get some of their waffles fries with one. And the pies are irresistible, they are on a carousel on your left as soon as you walk in the door. You drop at least $25 a person there but it is well worth it.

Both are excellent. I have a hard time passing up the pies when I see them in the carousel just as you enter.
Have never had a bad meal there. Desserts are amazing!!!
