You should have an email to reset your password. The Apple associate will only help you so much.

I would try using a phone, computer or tablet that isn't locked, like a public one or a friend's, to reset your password with Apple and set up a new one. If that isn't an option, I would bring it to the Apple Store. An associate there can probably help.
