Ciccarone Park is named after Vincent Ciccarone, a combat soldier who gave his life in WW I. Funding for the park came from the War Memorial Fund, established in 1921 by the NYC Police Department. This fund required funded properties to be named after a fallen combat soldier who gave his life in combat.
