Rufus King Park was once a very good environment but due to some unknown reason now it has become a very bad place. I saw children playing with their parents but in the evening an unknown scene started where people sat down, took marijuana, took drugs and many other bad activities.

I love the park my daughter's have been enjoying this park for years I understand there's a homeless people here but if you dont bother them they dont bother you plus the park is pretty big to be a few steps from them. The kids enjoy playing in the playground, in the green spaces, in the water or even a movie night during the summer. Now they offer free meals during summer.

The park on one side is nice, but closer to Jamaica Avenue is in shambles. The Rufus House area is well tended too, gated off. However there is severe homelessness. There is trash and debris, clothing on the grounds. Families tend to stay on one side, its not safe where the homeless reside.

It’s my neighborhood park and love going there when I have time home. Enjoy watching locals in my neighborhood play soccer Aka football, handball, basketball, lots of space for kids to ride, rollerblade as well and the play ground …

Please check with the City Park Commission in that area, or go to the Police Station on Jamaica Avenue and ask them. They know what to do to help you with that question. Peace Be With You.
Ask the park patrol in Rufus Park. They are the ones you must ask, and they will direct you how your request can happen. The are the ones that control Rufus Park. OK ! I know this park, and it's a nice place to enjoy yourself with your family. They are the ones that ride around in the green van.
Parks close at dusk.
