There's a huge ferris wheel similar to the London Eye. As others have said there's tons of activities to do in Navy Pier. And fireworks is on Wednesdays at 9:30 pm and Saturdays 10:15 pm from Labor day weekend to memorial day weekend. You can get a close up of the lake without thr Beach. Boat tours, children's museum, and recently they have a rotating prism with lights outside the navy pier.
Beyond all of the above mentioned...there is a nice area at the end with reclined seating outdoors facing the ocean to just take in the view....some even dared to be tanning
Boat tours and cruises, restaurants, bars and my favorite thing to do there: walk around and absorb the beauty of the city.
It's cool to walk around & check out the awesome view. Must eat at Giordanos! Bunch of restaurants and shops.
Boat tours restaurant , in summer there is fireworks as well on some specific days in every week
Food, drinks, really nice views. Definitely something to do while in Chicago!
The Navy Pier Winter Wonder Fest is always fun in December and January
