No, this is a health and public safety issue. Lakes, rivers and streams contain hidden hazards like sudden drop offs, limbs, rocks ,other unseen obstructions and rapidly changing weather conditions. Lifeguards are not present at those areas and many people overestimate their swimming abilities leading to drowning . It only takes a few seconds to get in trouble and turbid water prevents people from being rescued quickly. Additionally since County Parks are in urban areas with all types of runoff entering the watershed there are chemicals and naturally occurring waterborne bacteria that can cause a variety of illnesses by ingestion or entering our bodies through breaks in the skin. Large populations of ducks and geese contribute to increased bacterial counts in the water.

sorry Imeant creeks 4light fishing 2wade?, around ther. certainly would never swim a river ever either, I've been a fish lung my whole life. All ur answers were amazing! LOVE all the importance of our rivers in that way for others to see and learn2, as much as possible, about their danger's as well as in our deep!!whole creeks with under currents black wholes an whirl pools. No!!! You can fish from shore, but the river is extremely dangerous with turbulent undertows that will pull you under water and holes in the bottom that are hidden by the murky water.

NO! The river there is deadly! If the river doesn't kill you, the barges will!

I am an excellent swimmer and there is absolutely no way I would even think about getting in that river. It is extremely dangerous as mentioned above ploss there's a lot of debris and there that you could get sucked in to suck donder caught on and trapped. A good way to die. Actually not a very good way to die…
