(Febuary 26, 2022) I went on the day after my birthday to celebrate with a friend. Had such an amazing time, so beautiful and great memories were made. Fun time for a walk and seeing some beautiful scenery.

Excellent cave tour by Ranger Laura. The park offers guided tours 2 days per month, 2 tours per day in the summer. I'd highly recommend going on the cave tour. Make sure to book your tour in advance as they fill up fast. Very interesting to learn about the geologic, biologic, and cultural history of Cliff Cave!

Love the trails and the overlook. But to be honest it was a lot better before all the new concrete trails. The mountain bike trails are still great. Really needs a playground at either the upper or lower trailhead.

Some have given this place a bad review because it is paved now. The paved trails are what allows for people with strollers or scooters to go. I saw some people with strollers and some elderly in a scooter. It has some trails off of the paved path that allows you to experience more nature but for those of us that have children and need wheels, this place is amazing! If I come here without my husband it is great because I can use the stroller. We even made friends with a turtle who was sunbathing.

No, this is a health and public safety issue. Lakes, rivers and streams contain hidden hazards like sudden drop offs, limbs, rocks ,other unseen obstructions and rapidly changing weather conditions. Lifeguards are not present at those areas and many people overestimate their swimming abilities leading to drowning . It only takes a few seconds to get in trouble and turbid water prevents people from being rescued quickly. Additionally since County Parks are in urban areas with all types of runoff entering the watershed there are chemicals and naturally occurring waterborne bacteria that can cause a variety of illnesses by ingestion or entering our bodies through breaks in the skin. Large populations of ducks and geese contribute to increased bacterial counts in the water.
I don't believe it is. It open on those days. Monday- Sunday sunrise to sunset.
Samantha, Exactly what Timothy said! A quick way to check is on our website under "Park Postings" on the right hand side: http://www.stlouisco.com/Parks-and-Recreation
Yes, check them out here: https://www.stlouisco.com/ParksandRecreation/Trails/CliffCaveTrails
At various points along the trail it indicates what the distances are and also gives you a location code that you can call in if you have any trouble. Here is a link to the page that talks about the trails: https://www.stlouisco.com/ParksandRecreation/Trails/CliffCaveTrails
