Construction began in 1769 and was completed by 1809. The Levy family bought, renovated and preserved the house for nearly 100 years. Per the tour guide, much of the original (since the Levys) still stand with majority of changes due to the air-conditioning and security cameras.
It was built in stages over many years of Jefferson 's life. Don t know the date of completion.
