Food was tasty. No wait with reservation even tho we got there 15 min early on a weeknight. Limited scotch selection. Other cocktails are good with a strong pour.

Kudos to Duners management for their timely response to our review.. Appreciated their attention and concern. Wishing them success. Looking forward to our next visit.

My husband and I were very excited to try this restaurant as it had been recommended to us by many people. The cocktails and food ended up being our favorite meals we've had out in the Charlottesville area! Unfortunately, our service was less than desirable. We saw our waitress to order drinks and dinner and then did not interact with her until the check. I was hoping to order wine with dinner, but after receiving our entrees, she did not come by to ask about the meal or ask for any more drink orders. She did ask the couple next to us how their appetizer was and checked on the couple to our other side multiple times without turning towards us at all. After she came to gather the empty plates and we mentioned how amazing the food was, it was received with no response from her as she walked off with our check. Very disappointing level of service considering the food was so delicious and this restaurant came highly rated.

We visited from Norfolk for the weekend and ate here last night, OMG, this was one of our best meals in years. We live by the water and are spoiled by all of the fresh seafood we get at home so we were hesitant to order seafood. Glad we did. Had the shrimp and grits app, super tasty with good medium/large sized shrimp. The mussels app by far took the cake. HUGE plump mussels, cooked perfectly, and about 2dz at least in the order for like $15. The broth it came with was so good, we were soaking it up with the complimentary bread. Now onto the entrées. She had the beef tenderloin and I had the short ribs. Hers was cooked perfectly, we like it rare, and was one of the best steaks I’ve had in years, and I’ve had many. My ribs were so tender and the sauce was a cream based, not too overwhelming, just right. I wasn’t sure about short ribs as I’ve never had them, but it was like eating pot roast. The staff was so nice, friendly and attentive. It was our anniversary and on our dessert they wrote happy anniversary in chocolate. That was a nice touch. I would totally recommend eating here and would go back for sure.

Very good.
No lunch anytime
I imagine you could get something to go, but it's definitely closer to the fine dining end of the spectrum than a fast casual/takeout place, if that helps. Also, the menu changes frequently (daily?) and at any give time, some dishes would travel better than others, depending, for instance, on sauces, whether something would reheat well in general, etc. Edited to add: This place is awesome, by the way. If you like good food, sourced locally in a setting that's sophisticated but still very welcoming and not pretentious, I highly recommend trying this place out. Hope it doesn't sound like I work there. 🙂 Just a local and this is one of our favorite places in the area.
They are taking reservations now!
